I'm done with joining the fifth skirmish game in a row where my team is losing 30 clones to 60, where our mcc is already dropping like its hot, and i only got pulled into the match because so many players on the losing team have given up and quit the match and im here to fill in.
I would rather wait longer for matches that are still in the pre-game lobby to be set up than these ****** fourth-quarter games that are already lost and over.
We should have a match-making setting that lets you decide whether or not you'd like to be quickly picked for matches that are already going, or to risk waiting longer for new games to start up. A simple 'yes-no' toggle for started matches couldn't be that hard to implement, could it? |

Say you stick around for that:
You win. Cool.
300 sp, 15,000 isk and the knowledge that you had virtually no deciding factor in that match anyway. Why bother |

Of course it's annoying when you get dropped in right at the end, but it would be equally irritating to be playing with a numbers disadvantage. I generally don't feel like playing 10v16, and with the number of people leaving matches that's entirely possible if they don't get replaced.
Its a pub match. It happens. Scrubs quit when the chips are down and thats how it always has been in fps games. In fact this is the first time i've ever played an fps where the devs try to artificially rebalance a match after its started by pulling more people in after the fact.
I think it pisses more players off when they get pulled into these sinking ship battles than it would if you got stuck on a game like this. At least in the latter scenario, you retain the option of quitting if it's literally become 1v16 -- in the former (our current) scenario, you have no options to do anything about it, you just have to suffer through it.
What im saying is give us the option. |
