So what was the ruling then?
I must have missed it.
Can anyone provide the link to a CCP statement that indicates Merc pack topic is now outdated?
I'm ever so anxious to see which group feels they "won" and which group feels they "lost". |

That thread was outdated because there are current threads on the same topic and that one was very, very old.
Any "win" to be had here can only occur when CCP actually come out with a straight answer about what's going to happen.
Also, this will probably be locked for "questioning moderation" because that should be done in private, not as a thread in the forums. Not sure that's the intent here, but the thread title makes it look that way. |

I'm not questioning any moderation.
That thread was full of probably the best overall history and discussion on the matter.
If it is out of date then it must mean the topic is done with - and I wanted to see that post, link, smoke signal whatever.
If there were newer threads then I thought the forum rules state that redundant threads should be closed and the newer threads should be locked.
So the answer really is here then, no the topic is not out of date. However for some reason normal protocol on thread closure has not been observed.
It's like CCP don't want people to see just how long this has been telegraphed as an issue. |

well ironwolf was asking for a lock on it, so that probably contributed to the decision to lock it. |

There's a current, active thread on the same topic that isn't locked.
Bumping an old thread on the same topic was superfluous and wasting space on the front page of the forums.
The discussion is ongoing, but that particular thread is outdated. |
