Could not find a thing on it via forum search function... Decided to ask anyway...
Do we know what does it actually mean to claim an "unclaimed district"?
Do corp without district needs to buy first pack of clones from Genolution and just "move in"?
Will there be a fight with A.I. mercenaries/drones necessary to conquer it?
Will it be necessary to wait for other corp to try and claim same unclaimed district so it will be a kind of corp battle? The winner takes all...
Will there be initial RT set on them unclaimed districts?
What time zone will it be based on?
What time of day in that time zone?
Don't bash me if it was already answered. Partialy or in full. Just point me to a thread/dev blog it was discussed in.
Thank you |

YOU'RE NOT GETTING OUR DISTRICTS!
Joking aside from what I've read all it takes to move in is the pack of clones, claiming initiates the production of more clones, no Ai fight, and no fight to actually claim the district

From what I've read, I'll give you my best guess to how this will work.
In the Dev blog on Planetary Conquest it states that there is a 24 hour or so wait period after you schedule an attack before it actually takes place. This is depending on the established time of the district. So in the case of the unclaimed districts, it would probably be a 24 hour period where you can attack it and another corporation can attack it as well.
Problems with this would be choosing defender and attacker. Could be the first person to declare the attack on unclaimed district is the defender.
This is just my best guess. I would hate to see it the first person to attack owns it completely. |

Vermaak Doe is correct.
If a district is unowned when you move clones to it (either from your own district or with a clone starter pack) you take the district immediately.
The district will however be locked after capture which means you cannot change the reinforcement timer, or anything else, right away.
Someone can launch an attack against you right away. :)
Hope that helps! :D |

So claiming an unclaimed district can result in corp battle immediately. Possibly an endless stream of them. Limited by ISK spent on clones. A way to bleed out some fat corps on start of this "district rush"? An bring some balance? Nice ISK sink we have here, don't we?
I know you all being busy preparing for Fanfest and May(hem ) 6th, but i have a couple more questions. Sorry .
CCP FoxFour wrote:(...)The district will however be locked after capture which means you cannot change the reinforcement timer(...) Does it means there will be RT set initially on unclaimed district? What time of day? What time zone? Will it be randomized? You guys realize how many QQ posts time zone isues generate in MMOG, right?
Is everything presented in "DUST514 - Seeding The Universe (48 mins long, one year old) http://dust514.com/media/videos/dust-514-seeding-the-universe/ still in place? If not what have changed? (BTW: I like you'v random seeded The Universe with 42... Nice... Now, can I get a towel, a thumb and the guide?) |

You can see this window before taking the district, so you can handpick a district with an optimal reinforcement window for you/your corp.

If you mean actual fights then no, this is wrong. Battles will never occur with less than 24 hours notice to the defending corporation. |

Thanks for your patience CCP FoxFour... The more answers the more questions get into my head... Hope you don't mind...
CCP FoxFour wrote:(...)If you mean actual fights then no, this is wrong. Battles will never occur with less than 24 hours notice to the defending corporation. OK...
But what:
CCP FoxFour wrote:(...)Someone can launch an attack against you right away. :)(...) acctually means? A fight in 1h window starting 24h from the moment of claiming an unclaimed district?
Can unclaimed districts be claimed during reinforcement only? Or can we claim them anytime?
Will Star Map in DUST look like the one in "The Ongoing War" by Simon Myers video? (BTW: give him some likes OK? ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UtayGUKJR0 View #1 starts @0:07 ends @0:16 View #2 starts @0:54 ends @1:04
Will we search for districts to claim through this map? Will there be a search option "show only districts claimable now"?
May(hem) 6th will be something big indeed |

When you attack a district held by another corp it will be a minimum of 24 hours before the fight happens, and thus there won't be any actual battles on the first day.
Examples: A) You log on after downtime at 13 (EVE/Dust game time) and you take a district with a window of 16-17. Someone attacks that district at 14 and the fight will then happen 26 hours later, not 2 hours later.
B) If you take a district at 13 with a window of 08-09 and someone attacks you at 14 the fight will happen 42 hours later, not 18 hours later. |

You didn't really answer the question directly, but from what you're saying it sounds like every unclaimed district will start with a random reinforcement timer? Is that correct?
