Hey BAM, I have no idea how long you have been involved with DUST Beta but there are some very specific reasons the players base appears low currently.
May 6th is coming.
An entirely new Skill Tree is coming along with it. That will require much learning and rehashing. Not everyone thinks this will be a positive thing. Oddly enough, I am mostly positive about it.
Very few Maps with some minor variations are in use today. Boring, boring, boring and that is on the one I like. Manus Peak, Ashland, Skim Junction and Line Harvest for those wondering what they are.
Soon (tm aka bs) is getting old as well. It was old before the Open Beta.
The Human Endurance Event started getting many to play five matches a day, but once they found out that the total number mattered more well, forget that. And the rewards are basically not worth the effort. The Return On Investment is just not there. Weapons you cannot use, Suits that you are not skilled into (which will change in two weeks anyway) and the previous special rewards have been less than special at best. 10 suits?
Add to that your situation in the lack of support for non-US servers and migrating to somewhere to get a game moving. From the US isn't better, by the way. We get the same thing only when we get migrated the entire team lags so bad any map is unplayable. I have had many squads just decide as a group to leave the battle. Can hit anything, cannot defend and can barely move. No reason to stay that is for certain.
Lag switch Players are getting really annoying. Since CCP/Shanghai is unable to solve simple problems like tracking Kills in an FPS how could they be expected to solve this one?
They have done the Ninja Nerf to too many items and too many times. Heavy Suits that are medium currently, Forge Guns with no HW Sharpshooter gains, Rail Guns limited to 599m and the list is never ending. Play after shutdown and get unpleasantly surprised when you best setup no longer is worth running. All this with no explanation, warning or information from CCP/Shanghai because that is how they roll. Rolling over the player base is what they do.
