EVE players can loot wrecked ships, why can't we loot dead soldiers? The current looting system makes no sense and often gives you things you can't or don't want to use. Let us chose what we loot. It would also matter how you killed your enemies. For instance, if an enemy was killed by a grenade, nothing could be looted. |

I don't mind the auto looting; looting and salvaging in Eve is very tedious. If CCP gave us player trading that would fix getting useless items.

I don't think manual looting is a good idea- we discussed this in a few threads in closed beta. the biggest problem that would arise is that some players would just start leeching- they wouldn't contribute to the battle, but would rather pounce on any bodies they see.
I think an adaptation of the current system (or better yet: the old loot system when we would get a lot of low-tier stuff, instead of only high-tier) would be better.
(My idea) At the end of the battle, all of the assets salvaged by drones would pop up in an auction-like system. Players on the winning team would then be able to bid on these items using the WP from that battle (and only that battle). After a set amount of time, each asset goes to its highest bidder. Not only does this reward the winning team and players with higher WP, but it also allows players to be picky about their salvage, so they get what they actually plan to use, instead of giving a stack of officer forge guns to an LAV pilot. |

How about a salvage equipment item that is used on bleeding out enemies like a nanite injector. Using it retreives a random piece of the enemy's fitting, be it the suit, the officer weapon you coveted, or a mere shield extender. |

You'd have to also ask how you could keep those things? Run back to base? Die and lose it all? |

I guess you would take it to a supply depot. But this would make for some kind of capture the flag gameplay, where a valuable item constantly switches hands. |
