I really didn't want to post this thread but for the love of god CCP did you even read all the comments of new players and their trouble with this game? It seems you are not listening and this is forcing a lot of new players to quit the game. You are only allowing the pros to win the game which is not a good thing. In months these new players would have been experienced mercs forming new or joining older more experienced corporations simply stated adding to your player base! So in the end you are loosing your long term players because they are all getting stumped out of quick matches. This thread is dedicated to the new players who hate or want to try Dust but just can't do good in this game it has multiple new player suggestions and ideas and is open to ideas from the community. Thank you CCP if you are listening and are aware of the problem and if you are doing something about it in Uprising.
Better tutorial - Please CCP players have been asking for this for ever the tutorial is annoying and not in depth I really don't know what is not likeable about it maybe because Aura keeps asking me "do you want to know more" but I sure as hell didn't like it either. It's up to you to look through feedback and suggestions and find what is not likeable about it maybe create a thread for "Tutorial improvement" and get responses from the new player base and older player base on what they like and do not like about the tutorial.
New player matches only - A quick match system for new players this is filtered by skill points and only allows players with say 1.5 million skill points or less to play in these matches. After they go above this amount of skill points they can no longer que into a beginners game match. I think 1.5 million skill points is still enough to let some people go up against militia tanks and have a competitive match against say standards but not go up against tanks that can hit people for 3,500 damage in a single shot or Duvolle assault rifles with prototype assault suits. Regular quick matches could be qued as normal.
Aura virtual starter mission - The tutorial we have is more of a tutorial for the neocoms and merc quarters which is great but it means we need a tutorial for in game controls. The starter mission could be skippable but would be offered to everyone it could also be accessed and re played through the "help/tutorial" tab. The starter mission would be Aura guiding you through the controls of walking, shooting, dropships, tanks, light attack vehicles, hacking, supply depots, and killing NPC enemys. Each part of the tutorial could be skipped so for example if you wanted to skip from dropship to tank control you could do so instantly. This starter mission would be virtual so you could go to point A to point Z almost instantly. This could be done by clicking right on the controller and selecting the part of the tutorial you want to go to. So in stead of using right on the ps3 controller to call in orbitals, vehicles, and instillation it would be used to go to tank control or dropship control tutorial section. Each vehicle and dropsuit type would have it's own room and training mission this means dropships get a huge open map to fly in and shoot down other dropships while logistic tutorial you are supposed to heal a bunch of robot dummies before they die.
Starter agent missions - In EVE after you run the tutorial and tutorial missions with Aura she will give you 50 starter agent missions for things like exploration, military, distributions, etc etc... This not only gives you an idea of what you want to do in EVE but also isk, skill points, and ships to fly in. Dust should receive starter agent missions as well where you receive a minimal amount of isk, skill points, but also cheap gear and weapons. Completing all the missions would give you an advanced blueprint of your class type. So artificer would get an standard blueprint logistic suit and other items to pretty much say good job you completed these missions we're proud. He would also have a minimal amount of isk and skill points and in game experience from completing this starter agent missions. This would make it so players also feel rewarded and feel they should run tutorials and tutorial missions before they go into quick matches. This keeps the noobs out of quick matches but also gives them idea of what to do.
Boot Camp - Boot camp offers free militia blueprint from militia heavy, logistics, scout, and assault suits but also all free militia tanks, drop ships, and light attack vehicles. Boot camp has three parts or sections which are mainly running with other players against NPCs sort of like an ambush match where militia only dropsuits and vehicles are run against moderate to hard NPCs. The second option is a kind of skirmish match where players in militia fits and vehicles try and capture null cannons that don't shoot it however brings down a fake bar that once reaches zero the NPC forces loose simulating a skirmish match. The NPCs can however capture objectives as well but it is fairly easy to kill these dummy NPCs. The last part would be an ambush version where players run still in militia fits against other players the player with the most kills will be displayed in the boot camp leader boards as the best and receive a minimal reward. At all other times players will be walking around a boot camp yard or room with other players choosing which mission type they want to run. NPC Ambush, Fake Skirmish, or Player Ambush (whoever has most lifetime kills receive number one rank and small reward per Wednesday after downtime).
