1. The UI is customizable due to depth; the amount of information needed makes putting an easy to navigate UI difficult at best, and still manage to find everything relatively easily. 2. This is not a WASD game; you will use your overview for navigation. 3. Applying to a corp is easy - you click "show info" on the corp, then click "apply to corp" at the bottom; the interview process that a lot of corps use can be complext - pick one that is casual if you don't want to feel like you are applying for a job 4. You will get good frigates for free as part of the tutorials 5. The skill tree being 100% passive means you don't have to grind needless missions to level up, and can take time off so you don't have to play when you don't feel like it, and won't feel penalized when you come back. 6. There are plenty of things to purchase at the low end of the spectrum which are effective and and inexpensive; playing with them to find your favorite is best - check the bonuses to see what each has a role for and use the ship for that role insted of going against the grain 7. The market place is sortable based on price/location 8. A plex costs about 600 million ISK; I wouldn't expect someone to give you one given it is more expensive than most of the ships in the game. |

As for everything else... there is no other game like EVE. That means the UI might feel crappy cause it is so vastly different from the norm you are use to. Who knows if there was a better way to include everything, you should have seen it before. The skills are completely time based, that means you don't have to grind on anything that is existential.
You only need to find resources to build your ship, or go fight for isk to buy the ship you are skilling into. If you want to be a fighter, you fight pirates for isk. If you want to be a miner, you mine minerals for isk. You don't have to mine minerals to be a great fighter... ever. If you want to be a space trucker, you take contracts to haul boxes across the solar system... for... you guessed it... isk. You just make due with what you have until you are secure enough to move up into a stronger/better ship for the role you want to play.
EVE is not for everyone, but EVE is great at what it does.
You no longer have to be at their home station; you just have to be docked in any station; this was changed years ago |

Well, thanks for the info. From what i've seen, plex costs about 500 mil, and from what i've heard, a single player can have over a billion isk. In a large corp with many players paying taxes, they would theoretically have a lot of isk. Also, please tell me how to get to a list of corps, as all I can find is the list to search adverts
A corp's ISK is used to pay for station services for your corp, as well as to provide other in game benefits (replace ships when they are lost for free or using the ISK to offer a discounted cost), provide ammo at no charge, maintain Player Owned Starbases, etc.
Also, the corps are typically less rich than the players as a result. The purpose of the corp is not to pay for your subscription, they are there to add content in game to you. |

(I'm only half joking.)
Eve's interface is unintuitive and clunky, and the game as a whole is not for everyone. It's vicious, cutthroat, and unforgiving.
... which is reason enough for me to love it.
If you can get past the learning cliff and find your niche, it is one of the most rewarding experiences in online gaming. Do take advantage of other players, do not let them take advantage of you, and try to find a solid group to fly with as soon as you can.
There are tutorials on the forums for almost any role you can imagine, from mining to piracy, often in the form of logs. Use them.

I never was good at trolling... this is evidence of that. I will endeavor to learn, Jedi Master - teach me |
