Same issue hear with image retention. Posted about a transparency level for the HUD awhile back hopefully we can get some attention to this.
As well mine is a Panasonic plasma, it will fade but you need 3 days of other programming playing.
Let's keep this one up on the to do list, PLEASE CCP |

Zeylon Rho wrote:Thanks for bringing this up, I have a panny plasma as well. It's come up in other games as well. It's always good to have some settings to mitigate the burn-effect..
What do you usually use if I may ask?
I use the pixel flipper for a few hours, then run some file I found on the internet that has different colour swirls then a checkboard fade in and out, seems to do the trick but after a 6 hour session I need to run it for a few days. Real PIA if I wanna watch a hockey game. I will notice smudging on the ice where the ammo and health are found. |

CCP Frame wrote:Hello,
Could you please tell us which PS3 you are using? How old the PS3 is, if you have that information available.
Thank you!
Using a first gen PS3 fat, bought it when it first came out 001 model. Ammo and health leaving bad ghosting, notice it when watching Hockey or solid blue, white screen. The health bars for the MCC are starting to work in too.
The plasma is a Panasonic 50u50. As well, the new build doesn't fill my screen vertically (perfect horizontally) I have about on inch or two on the top and bottom, like watching a widescreen movie. Other in my corp have noticed this as well on their tv's. |

Mine is not 3D but have heard the same things that they are less prone (should have spend the 150 more), have reverted to an old Hitachi 51 rear projection HD TV. Its goods to see they are looking into it.
As far as the others trying to get the retention out, the best luck I have had is to run the pixel flipper on the Disney WoW dvd and not play on that tv till they lessen the brightness or come up with something to dull the white. Though I do like the HUD on this game my OCD wont allow me to play on that tv knowing it will be there. Its basically all gone and can only be noticed on a dull white back ground. As well, the black bars on the top and bottom aren't going to help the image retention either.
I have faith it will all be fixed in the end thanks for responding PHOTON.

I haven't played on my plasma in 3 months. The IR is barely visible, its safe to say I have slight burn in. Come on ccp I enjoy your game but need a patch to play it on my good tv :( |

Thanks for the response photon.
Hopefully it makes 1.3, any lead on this being looked after is great. Unfortunately my plasma will never forget dust as I have burn in where the ammo and health can be found. Havent played dust on the plasma in 3 months. The radar was starting too, but I stopped playing on my plasma to avoid it. No other game has ever done this to my tv.
I am still surprised no one at ccp noticed this from |

Sir what is the Disney WoW? I would like to try that. You shouldn't have to do this, if CCP had fixed the HUD issue , I've said before this should have been fixed long before now, it's a major issue as it can do perm damage to ur plasma TV , they have known about this for at least 4 months but still seem to ignore Their game can and does cause image retention or screen burn ,so be warned as CCP don't seem to care about this, best way to play ATM is AFK .or just don't play at all Maybe I should post a link to this thread on CPM statement they want transparency, well this thread wants transparency to the HUD to allow us to play the game
You are right. Hopefully it won't be another 4 months want to play on my tv again |

You will notice a small one over night. I ran it for 30 hrs on the pixel flipper and never played dust on it again. It is very insignificant now.
Good luck and let's go ccp. We only ask cause we like the game. |

Worked for myself, the transparency option is great. But once there is burn in even slight. There will always be burn in.
