This is just the start of my list. This is not saying you must follow these, they are not rules, but they are just nice qualities to have in a pilot. I am open to suggestions like i said earlier, and i will check this post as often as possible.(good ideas will be added to my list)
I disagree with all 3.
1. It's just a tool. If I need to "disrespect" that tool to achieve a larger goal, I'll do it. 2. Mobile CRU is a terrible use of a dropship. If you're playing with corp mates you can pick then up at spawn in a few seconds, and if you're playing with blueberries you don't want them spawning on you anyway. A mobile CRU is a sign of a bad pilot most of the time. 3. See my response to 1. |

If you don't pilot a Dropship, and you just quickly use it then you don't even technically pilot it, you just fly it. Also, mobile CRU has it's downpoints but just "picking them up at spawn" isn't always so easy. It is 100% easier to hit a target that is perfectly still than one that is going full speed. Point wise (currently) mobile CRU isn't worth it, but if you are trying to win it changes the tide of the battle. A Dropship is not a tool, the repair tool that my Logi uses is a tool.
I almost guarantee you I've spent more time flying a dropship than you've probably spent playing Dust 514. If you think picking people up at a spawn isn't a piece of cake, I don't know what to tell you. You fly in, buzz their heads, they hit O and you head out. Takes half a second. Even hard landing is fairly easy, just gotta get your angle right and you can hit the floor surprisingly hard without popping.
We will just have to disagree about whether a drop ship is a "tool" or not. IMO, every piece of gear in the game is a tool. Dropships, repair tools, HAVs, Type II heavy suit, etc, etc. They are all tools. |
