I think I've just had a eureka moment! After having received my first fan mail ever in dust, the thought came to me; why not make this a trackable stat like K/D. This is how it would work...CCP makes a way for the receiver of fan mail to submit said GÇ£fan mailGÇ¥ for pier review (so that the mechanic cannot be abused). If the community votes in favor of said mail being GÇ£fan mailGÇ¥, then the receiver of the fan mail gets a +1 to his/her fan mail stat. This would be hilarious, and work as a trophy like system system within dust. At the very least, I hope CCP will institute a sub folder system within the game email, so that players have a way to save there fan mail without it cluttering up there in-box.
All things being said, I think I would rather have a high fan mail stat, then a high K/D ratio. |

This would be the pier review part. The fan mail is submitted to the forums where the dust community can view it and then vote on whether or not it is fan mail.
the submission of the mail would be forwarded from the dust client...so that ppl don't just make it up on the forums. |

Don't ask CCP to do this. It's a great idea. We can do it ourselves.
If we can verify the valid nature of mail sent for 'pier review' (wherein we evaluate your dock), we can build an app/website/etc and make that stat ourselves. Maybe the API will allow us to verify legit DUST mail and posting such to an external site or app would allow players to vote it up or down.

I'm actually sort of creeped out by fan mail, so a way to identify it and lock it forever would be nice. |
