I don't see how it is a problem. Every time you jump your stamina depletes, so you have limited amount of jumps; nothing is needed. |

If it was my video game, I'd say to myself, "This whole 'jumping during combat thing' is making my game look ridiculous. I think I should find a way to discourage it." Then I would think of all the reason why our brave men and women overseas are not jumping in Iraq and Afghanistan. The first reason is that it makes you easier to hit, because the aim of our enemies is not restricted by an imperfect controller interface which excels at medium range and is poor at close range (our natural human abilities are the complete opposite). The second reason is that it's very tiring. Dust514 already takes a chunk out of your stamina reserve for jumping, which is great, but it's clearly not enough to discourage the act.
The 10% shield reduction may seem a bit draconian, but let's look at another solution that is obvious but never used in any video game ever:
Movements speed is reduced by 50% for 0.25 seconds after landing a jump.
There you go. You jumped. Congrats. Now you're slower. You know, like a person in real life who attempts to jump repeatedly. No video game has ever implemented this or any variation of this obvious jump limitation, however, so I doubt this one will either. |

Still NO Realistic or not is irrelevant, balance is what matters, and you have not made a case for why it is a balance issue. Applying the limitations of real life people to augmented immortal supersoldiers in heavily shielded an armored suits does not make sense.
There are games out their that will cater to your desire for a realistic war simulation, but Dust 514 is not one of them. |

Balance wise bunny hoppers can have a greater effect in hit evasion as applied to the weapon targeting them. BH a HMG and there is limited gain. Against a LR which has a single hit point and it is much more effective. As an evasive technique it is unbalanced.
I think bunny hopping spoils the interplay of a gun battle. Having a target leaping around while the shooter leaps about is not sophisticated gun game. Its arcade play. Good gun game is about acquisition and targeting. A player who positions well and engages first should determine the larger part of the outcome.
People BH to avoid death and to try abuse hit detection. While is is a viable play style it shouldn't be. But if an evaisive option s needed then limit it to that. A simple solution is to stop people taking certain actions wile being hit with weapon fire. There are a few options here :
1) if you are jumping you can not shoot 2) If you are jumping you can not reload 3) If you are taking fire you can not jump (could cause issues with uneaven surfaces)
Non of these are game breaking or stop you hopping if bullets start pinging of the world around you and you are avoiding being hit. So as an evasive technique it still works. But options like these will give the attacker the advantage, an advantage he earned by his position and targeting.
You can still evade but once engaged your options diminish. The game gives you shield and armour options if you want to be able to survive hits. These are what should be used when under fire. |

Unless they implement an effective (ie: FAST) serpentine mechanic, jumping is needed to evade OP things like high-tier ARs and LRs that can kill you just by accidentally firing a burst in your general direction or grazing you, respectively. |

Well for me personally, when I bunny hop, I die. When I move into cover like a normal person I live to fight another day, so I don't see the problem. Be glad they're bunny hopping and not being tactical cause those are the ones that kill you. |

*translation*
I suck at aiming. Please make it easier for me to aim since I cant hit a target that jumps in the air as I was not born with opposable thumbs that are coordinated enough to track an enemy.
Seriously this is the dumbest request and it goes hand in hand with people who ask that the straffing be lowered (because real soldiers dont run out in the open and straff dodge around to get their kills). Usually I am pretty nice to people and I take their requests seriously and give good arguements against it but in this case these kind of requests dont even deserve that level of resect. As they say in Eve HTFU or get out.....and I am serious if you truly think that jumping (or straffing) needs to be nerfed then leave...dont play this game....you are as they call a noob who will never learn how to play a game no matter how long you play it so I will save you the heartache and tell you right now. You suck go play the Legos game series as that game is more your play style and you will have more fun with that then you will with Dust. If someone jumps while I am shooting them I continue to shoot them and kill them. If I jump I use it to give me opportunity to reload and its amazing how many people have 0 ability to keep up with dancing in the box. If you cant keep up then either accept the fact that you suck or leave. |

Then why don't you go play DDR if you are so inclined I swear if aim- botting was a thing in Dust you would see the Imps declaring their entitlement for that too |

Jumping causes a person to be unable to change direction, so they must hit the ground before being able strafe in another direction. This causes the person to have a much more predictable path and so tracking the target is much easier. If you have bad aim and cannot shoot a person who is in the air then there should be no reason to nerf the ability to jump. I have gone one on one with heavies and only been able to survive because they have bad aim and cannot hit a person who has suddenly decided to play a game of the ground is lava. Jumping is a valid tactic and if they try to jump away from somebody who is a good shot then most likely they will die. |
