Any training corps want to help him out? He apparently started somewhat recently, He doesn't have a mic (or doesn't use it) as far as I know. I'd have to get on again to find his name. I just don't have the time or patience to deal with teaching someone just yet. I never went through any of the training corps myself so I don't know who is in a good position to teach him. |

What skills to go into, what mods help his style out best, stuff that is too much to type with a DS3 controller.... |

Yes but not everyone wants to read page after page of manuals/instructions. We need fresh players and most wont stay if the game is too confusing. |

Sentient Archon wrote:Tell him this;- pick one weapon and one dropsuit and focus on that. Doesn't even matter if he is good at it. Once he plays with that all the time, he will automatically get good if he has some skills. If not he is better of playing Tetris I already did and my hand is cramping today because I had to type so much to him last night in squad chat. Typing on a DS3 is terrible.... |

Beren Hurin wrote:I'd say, next to basic FPS skills, map awareness and playing your role are the most important parts to learn. Unless you use the vanilla AR assault, there is a lot of tactics and techniques that come either through trial and error or explicit explanation of how to act under different conditions.
These are hard to put in writing. They are best learned through a type of 'lessons learned' approach to fighting, failing, and restarting. I know, that's why I want him to get a real teacher, sometime you do a particular thing so much you don't realize its stupid until someone points it out to you. Like all these militia noobs who keep thinking they can solo heavies at point blank range. |
