So which FPS game exactly is it that lets players in a space-based game appear above the planet, visible in the FPS gamers' night sky, and rain down destruction? Because while I'm open to be corrected, I'm pretty sure that hasn't been done before... |

Also, this is an announcement for what's coming IN THE NEXT BUILD, not for content we already have. It's going to show up alongside the Planetary Conquest system.
And that ties into the day/night cycle. Different planets will have different rotational speeds and your day/night cycle will be tied to the planet's rotation, and the light in the sky during the day will depend on the type of star you're orbiting. Any games where that happens? |

What's the space game that Space Invaders is linked into? 3. If there really is another game, how come all the players move in formation back and forth in front of the guy on the ground letting him shoot them? |

I'm imagining pockets of helium venting out of cracks in the ground, and if you jump in those areas you jump higher. Is this possible? Or shoot it near a blue dot and kaboom! This seems more likely to happen on purpose. |

Denak Kalamari wrote:The way Joystiq worded the article was a bit off. Having the real, fully modeled EVE ships flying in orbit above us would be a massive task, and technically hard to do. What CCP has said is that they will add an icon of sorts to signify that an EVE player is up there and ready to bombard people down below. CCP has also talked about adding foliage to the game, but a day and night cycle? That's something I've either missed or is just speculation. Anyone can have a link to a Dev confirming this? It's been mentioned in at least one video interview, and in an article I read.
The day/night cycle will probably be exclusive to Planetary Conquest - at least for now, but there will be night battles in other gametypes as well. Basically, when you control a district, the map will be lit differently based on your current angle in relation to the system's star. |
