So this idea literally just popped into my head, and I really want to know what you all think of it.
Right now, it only seems that turret skills the belong to the operator, and any of the passengers are the only set of skill that actually affect a vehicle. So how would you all react if CCP broadened that idea out to other vehicle related skills in the next build?
Shield skills, armor skills, turret skills, racial skills, and anything else relating to vehicles actually all stacked.
Right now someone with a proto forge, and some complex dam mods can solo a proto tank. But could that forger solo that tank if it had a 75% increase in both aromer, shields, turrets, and anything else that those three might have speced into? Probably not.
Now think of a drop ship. They aren't so paper thin when they have a full load of soldiers, now do they? 175% increase. Thats crazy!
It would make vehicle preservation a team effort. Having dedicated vehicle operators that have a soul purpose of making that one vehicle as strong as it could be. |

I like it.
It could be the way to end the 'tanks are overpowered, dropships are too weak' etc. argument because it would come down to lack of teamwork and preparation.
Do you think that a bonus for having the vehicle filled with dropsuits of the corresponding race would work? Or would homogeneous armies be boring? |

Turret gunners with small turret skill already stacks on top of the drivers and i think the other gunner. Tankers that run proto small turrets and have gunners specked into it can annihilate enemy tanks. and the small blaster ends up doing like 150% more dmg or something crazy.
Or so I have been told by tankers I know. I cant confirm that. |

I'm pretty sure Dropships would be OP when you have a full 6-player squad loaded up with passive skill buffs. |

Its not the tanks job to kill the AV fit Heavy, its his squad of infantry, ow wait video game logic tanks must solo everything.... |

I like it, though I think the marauder class of tanks need to be fixed first before doing something like this; for the massive price increase, its not much gain. |

Love the idea, but to balance it, perhaps there should be a bonus for multiple swarms or forge rounds that hit a vehicle within a certain time frame(perhaps 0.1 seconds less that the smallest spool time you can get a forge gun down to) to encourage coordinated AV too.
I'm thinking a slightly less intense version of this. |

But rather to give it the ability to survive against high leveled anti vehicle weaponry. A tank would ho down in a matter of second if there were 2 or 3 proto forger pounding it. This would give it a little more health to escape a situation like that.
It would also cut down on vehicle spam in a way. You could risk having 2 or 3 weak tanks, or one powerful tank. |

Turret ops 10% Sm Turret ops 15% Sm Turret Prof 10%
That works out to a maximum of 70% increase for the small turrets. |
