Why shouldn't a pilot be able to purchase and mount proto turrets on their ships? They are not going to be operating them, and if they have a turret operator that can operate them, yet is not a pilot, he should be able to use them. A pilot is not going to be operating the turrets, he is going to be flying the ship. You do not expect a pilot of an aircraft carrier to operate the turrets of the aircraft carrier, that is a turret mans job. You do not expect a turret operator of a huey to be a pilot, nor is a huey pilot going to be operating a turret while he is a pilot. |

I guess the skill is also about maintaining your turrets out of battle. |

Currently I feel turret skills are to provide a measure to ensure tank drivers don't acquire large prototype turrets without a cost. They need to go through small turrets before the large ones. Besides, the system isn't too flawed. If I were a the pilot to a vehicle I'd want to understand as much as I could about it.
Also, a pilot's turret operation skills stack on top of the gunners'. So who wouldn't want such bonuses? |

Maybe there should be different type turrets for the dropships and the tanks. I can see needing to train in turret operations for tanks (or at least certain type of turrets,) but but as I said about pilots and turret training. For instance, I am up there on turret levels, but nothing on piloting; I can purchase the higher quality turrets, but the pilot that I fly with cannot put them on his dropship - even though he is a high level pilot. (and it would be nice to be able to have a locking missile on a dropship like the ground troops have - as they can lock onto us, yet we cannot lock onto another dropship, tank ot turret; we have to aim an hope that we are on target (launching from a moving ship and aiming for another moving ship.) |

Indeed it doesn't make sense, but I don't know a better system. |
