This is a request for the EvE daily downtime to be scheduled two (2) hours earlier or later than it is currently set at.
The current EvE downtime coincides with Australian (AEST) gaming prime time, specifically 9:00 PM - 9:30 PM, and as such, is quite inconvenient for me individually.
So I would be most appreciative if this simple change was implemented with immediate effect.
An official CCP response confirming the change within the next twenty four (24) hours would be considered ideal.
Thanks, BAM |

I'd be inclined to agree, but honestly BAM, this has been asked sooo many times in EVE.... over the whole decade.
I am Australian too, and I do feel your pain. |

1. This is a Dust 514 forum. Why are you posting a request to change the Eve downtime here when the Eve forums are that way? ------->>>>
2. Any time you change the time for the downtime, it will always inconvenience some players on the opposite side of the globe. You also have to consider work hours. Then again it probably wouldn't hurt to change the hour in a way that only those living in the middle of the Pacific Ocean will be affected. |

Sure, change it so Aussies won't get screwed, but someone, somewhere, will get screwed because of the time change. |

I got it! A series of short down times spread throughout the day. Every 58 minutes there is a 2 minute downtime. This means 48 total minutes, more than what is currently used. Everyones hppy. Right guys? Let's make it happen. |

This won't happen, the EVE Online Tranquillity Server is located in London, UK The Regular Downtime (11:00 UTC) is for both Iceland (where CCP is located) and the TQ Server the best time of day to do a reboot, fragmentation, maintenance, etc. as the technicians have had enough cups of coffee (or in the UK, Tea) to be fully alert and awake should anything go wrong ... yet not too late that should a serious issue occur they can get it sorted without overtime being needed or if it is catastrophic then reschedule their evening around sorting it out.
For CCP this is an ideal time because it is within business hours. While it might seem "unfair" to those who see this as their primetime, keep in mind that EVE & DUST is available to countries around the world in EVERY time zone.
So what might seem better for you, is going to cause issues for others. In that respect even if you took the "business" reason out of the equation for when it is set, it still makes far more sense to make sure it affects the least amount of people as possible, and not to be the barer of bad news but unfortunately Japan - Australia are actually a very small minority of the player base for these games.
Currently the United States, United Kingdom and Russia are the largest ... so in that respect it is good to make sure they are the least affected by any server maintainance. |

Im from EU and I just wanted to share that a daily downtime after noon (1 PM) is not very nice. The reason is that gamers like me sleep until the midday.
Thank you.
PS: Is it impossible to have seperated downtimes for different timezones? If not, make it happen so DT is at .. lets say 5AM? |

I'm new to MMOs so I've been wondering, is a 30 minute plus daily downtown the norm for these types of games? As an Australian I too find it very annoying. |
