So Im seeing alot of posts about this topic and Honestly dont really get it myself and also want to know how you know a KB/M or DS3 killed you.
And with that said I do have concerns not so much with the balance of the two, but with the precision of DS3 in generall becuase its just BAD. It really needs to be addressed and bettered upon, I hate to compare Dust to "Other Games" but when it comes to the Precision of the DS3 ( and hit Detection but thats another thread ) "Other Games" have managed to achieve Smooth and Precise Aiming with the DS3 why cant Dust?
I really cant say much on the KB/M side of things as I do not currently nor will I ever use them, I been using the PS controller since it existed so its what I prefer.
I do not agree with removing this option for the same reason. I like my DS3 and KB/M people like there KB/M and having that option is a great thing, and needs to be kept ( not that its going anywhere )
If you wish to discuss this topic please post in a Constructive way so that we can deliver some good feedback to Devs to make both users Happy.
Also I opolagize for misspelling or incorrect grammer as that is not my strong suit.

For me most weapons can be used really well with both inputs.
The area where I see a lot of divergence is with Sniping and Laser rifles.
I watch my friend play a lot who is a KB/M laser user. The precision of the mouse lets him kill 3-5 exposed players with the same laser burst. I just don't think this would be possible with a DS3, although I might be mistaken.
I also think it takes sniping to the next level, the small adjustments needed for really long distance shots are just not possible with a DS3. I tried sniping on a DS3 and decided to just stick with the AR which I think works quite well on the DS3.
I don't think it's a huge problem, but if you are using a laser or sniper I think a KB/M could drastically up your game. |

In this case, its really the lazer more then then the input type, the viziam is bugged by a whole 5 points of base damage, and can kill a proto by just glossing over it for a milisecond. |

Plain and simple: Video Games are designed to have different playing styles. Some people are better at certain devices over others. No reason to complain or even debate the issue.
I know people who play PC games with an XBL controller. I know Dust players (including myself) who uses KB/M. No difference. No issue. No debate. |

Aiming is superior on PC, while movement is superior on controllers. |

Why most people don't hit with FG isn't because of control types, but because they don't have the timing right; the small delay in between shot and impact, or because they're not compensating for latency and shooting a bit further ahead of where someone's moving to rather than where the target currently appears to be. |

The FG is my main weapon of choice and when Forge-Sniping is where I notice the flaws of the DS3 but no other FPS has such a clunky and un-precise feel to it. |

Both control schemes need a lot of work.
I've seen good players who I know use the Sixaxis controller and tear people apart sniping or using Lasers and Forge Guns.
How do you know if the person who killed you was using a Sixaxis controller? You don't. How do you know they're a mouse user? Sometimes, they can turn faster than the turn speed cap. Other than that, you don't. |

Surely if you're seeing a lot of those threads around, it would make sense to post in one of those, instead of an entirely new thread dedicated to the same topic? |
