I've been in my corp for over a month now and all I've been told is that the corp wallet is used to fund corp battles. Is there any other use for it?
And also, what is the point of donating to the corp wallet when you can't participate in corp matches? (Not implying I don't donate. I do donate)
The only benefit I have from being in a corp is to play with a good squad but that's it.........
EDIT: Depending on how corp taxes will be handles in the Uprising update, I might consider the notion of having a one-man corp....... According to the feedback/request section, CCP might consider applying a tax to NPC corps as well. (If they plan on implementing an income tax rate in Uprising). I personally like getting 100% of my hard-earned paycheck so what better way than to make a one-man corp?
On a side note, I realize that its not much ISK in taxes either............. |

The corporation wallet serves several functions, only some of which is currently used.
First - Corp battles for honor/bragging/etc. Second - Buying clone packs for Planetary Conquest (May 6th) Third - Changing Surface Infrastructure on districts (May 6th) Fourth - Paying members for doing certain jobs Fifth - Buying equipment to issue to members (SOONtm) Sixth - Paying other mercs to attack/defend for you (SOONtm)
This is just what I can think of off the top of my head. I'm tired. There are potentially a lot of other uses, but the big upcoming one is Uprising and the need to buy 80,000,000 ISK clone packs to conquer districts on planets. |

The corp wallet is used for whatever the corp deems worthwhile.
The corp could spend it on fireworks and light up Embod if they so choose... and blow the rest on space hookers, and space black jack in space mexico.
my eve pilot's corp wound up initially being a fund to get new miners ships and skills to get them started. Not sure where it went but the corp hanger or whatever wound up full of contraband... in a high sec zone |

Ok, that makes sense. Guess I should wait and see what all that money we've been funneling to our corps will be used for in the future. |

We call them Exotic Dancers in New Eden. Theirs is a proud profession.
Except for The Damsel. As often as she gets stuck a Kruul's Pleasure Hub, she is clearly a space hooker. |

Drake, right now there isn't much to spend the corp money on and that's because this game is still in beta. Upon CCP adding a tax feature to the game, STB will be having a flat 10% on everyone. To my knowledge its going to stay at 10% at all times. This is how it is on the eve side of our corp right now (and believe me when I say most corps have a MUCH higher tax then that).
Now to you, 10% might sound like a lot..... its not. At least not enough to go and play solo/make your own corp over. The amount of money you would make in an organized group like us will far out weigh the money your losing through a 10% tax. |

It's been a while since I played Eve, but in that game there is a standard 11% corp tax on newbie NPC corps. Player corps often set taxes to less than this in order to attract members, others use taxes as ship replacement funds, etc. Some people do indeed set up 0% tax corps for their alts and their friends.
Remember though that to access the best items in the fully released and expanded game will likely be Very costly and require the investment of a corp.
