Sorry folks, I've tried to keep up with all the threads & info but if you blink, you end up missing something vital.
Anyway, as it seems we're going down the racial classes (), does anyone know what will happen with the rewards & other BPOs we've got through the length of closed beta? Will we have to put a skill level into the appropriate race class of those suits if we want to use them again? I'm thinking about going full on Gallente, so would rather put the SP into the relevant Heavy/Logi classes rather than chucking ISK & SP into a different race just to use my current BPO fits?
The same goes for someone who wants to play, say a solid Caldari, purchases a Merc pack, would they have to put SP into Gallente scout to use the dragonfly suit? Bit tight if they've forked out real cash for something that doesn't fit with how they want to play.
Or will such suits & weapons become generic, non race specific equipment for all to use if they are at the required level in their own race / class?
Thanks, |

Most of these rewards and BPOs don't require any skills to use at the moment. I don't see any reason why that would change. |

Will we be able to Rename our Chars with the respec? Considering that we didn't get to rename our characters after the reset before open beta, it is unlikely that we will get to rename them in Uprising. |

Dragonfly doesn't require any skill points, and yet its better than Militia. (As good as standard, before you P2W people jump on it) I'm guessing the others will be the same? |

All BPOs obtainable at the moment require no skills to use. This means we won't have to spec into skills just to use the BPOs.
Also, no, we won't be able to rename our characters. All the respec is is SP is being refunded so that we can reuse it. The only time we've been able to rename our characters when there was a wipe, when the DUST servers were linked with the EVE servers, to ensure no two characters could have the same name (as DUST and EVE share name space). |

Actually, the 'Sever' Logisuit, 'Raven' Assault suit and that Scout one I forget the name of, are all BPOs that are on Standard level, so they've so far required SP investment to use. |

Only Dragonfly and other special "bundle" BPOs are Standard-level with no skill requirements.
Other BPOs have so far all been Militia-grade gear. |

Apologies. Didn't actually bother to check whether they were or not, I decided to try and bluff my way through that :( |

Skill points are getting 'refunded' Skill books are getting bought back even those you had injected.
So around may 6th you will still have the same amount of SP (unless the rumor of them removing all afked SP is true since it is trackable) You will have a bunch more isk to respend on new books on may 6th. You will have most of the same items before the shift. Mind you this may be a good time to get one of everything just in case. |

Skinweave suits are the main thing that was given out in closed beta. All of those are Militia.
Would be nice to know what's going to happen with the introduction of racial suit variants though... will they stay as a "generic" Militia suit with the appearance of the first version of that suit? Will the racial variant keep its look and the militia version have a redesign? Will there be Militia versions of each racial suit?
And if there are racial variants of the Militia suits, which version(s) will the Skinweave suits be? |

The raven assault requires drop suit command 1 & Caldari assault 1. The Sever logi requires drop suit command 2 & minmatar logi 1. Skinweave suits have no requirements. Valor scout requires dropsuit command 2 & Gallente scout 1.
My point is, would those BPO suits given out as "rewards" that have skill requirements still have those specific race requirements, or will they have the requirement of that specialty but any race?

I am also curious about this.
I currently run as logistics. If after the respec I choose to focus on Caldari logistic suits, will I need to put 1 point into Minmatar logigistic suits in order to use the type 1 SEVER BPO?
If so that kind of decreases the value of those suits. Alternately CCP could remove the skill restriction on those suits (making them function like the dragonfly scout) but that would drastically increase their value. I guess we will have to wait and see. |

No you will need to bring Caldari Light Frame to sufficient level (4?) then you can spec into Caldari Logistics Suits in which that skill may require dropsuit command to a certain level. |

The numbers that CCP tracks is mindbogglingly stupid both in and off the battlefield. |

If I remember from the pictures we saw of the Sisi test server, it kind of seemed like each race had its own 'dropsuit command' so to speak. Or.... well a base skill you have to skill into before leveling up the actual 'assault/logi/heavy/scout suit' skills. The base skill is where you get a base bonus from, though if they do it like eve the dropsuits themselves should be giving bonuses also. |

How is AFK trackable? The numbers that CCP tracks is mindbogglingly stupid both in and off the battlefield.
More specifically this is a server based game, thus every input any player makes is sent to the server and every result of that action is there to be logged.
CCP stated in one FanFest video that they could use the logs to replay a battle and view said battle from any perspective. You can imagine the amount of information they can mine from that.
In DUST everything you do goes on your permanent record. |

I don't believe so...but prereqs and stats aren't displayed EVE-side for Dust gear and skill, so not sure how much you can get out of looking (other than knowing the names and descriptions of things, of course) |
