Question: Are you finally going to fix a lot of the bugs we have been reporting when uprising comes out?
So I understand there will be a lot of new content coming out with the Uprising update. I even heard a rumor about the game being put on a different engine. New content is a nice change from the same old stuff and somehow I can't believe you would close the beta and release the game on a new and untested engine at the same time. One thing that everyone would agree with is fixing the bugs that have been plaguing this game for months will increase the playability and satisfaction in the game. The more you play this game the more frustrating these bugs become and they begin to do more damage to our gameplay exponentially.
Lets be real. This is a FPS game and can and will bring out the competitive nature in a lot of us. Not winning sucks, but it will happen. If your error gets you killed you generally learn from your mistake. If a game error gets you killed there is nothing to learn from and will simply cause you frustration. The longer you play the more expensive your fittings become and the more costly and frustrating these game errors become. The error doesn't even have to cost you isk, it can cost you some pride because you died to someone you shouldn't have because you got stuck on a hill as if it were made of honey.
Hats off to all you Vets from closed Beta who still play this game. Things like the reload glitch, sticky hills, charging bug, and drunken RDV pilots degrade the playability of the game and according to you all many have been around since early closed beta. Will this big "Uprising" event include a fix to some of the long standing problems that people have reported, or are we to expect new problems with new content? |

Trust me when I say that there will always be bugs.
CCP may fix what they can but because of the way they constantly build on and modify their games things will always get broken.
Anybody who plays EVE will now all about this.
It's the price we pay for a never ending, never finished game. |

I have been apart of games like this before and one thing that we all learned was if you are building a game ontop of its self continuously you need to have the basics down pat and perfect before you start piling more information on it and into the game.
It's like buliding anything. If the foundation is weak you will have problems. If you build on a weak foundation those inherint flaws will damage anything new you add in. If you try and fix the foundation after you have built everything on it, either you will break everything else or you will have to reprogram everything else to conform with the new foundation.

I've been saying the same things you have in your OP, noob 45. And I have a ton of faith in CCP, but there's no denying that the mechanics are 2nd or 3rd rate atm, and that it's driving potential players away in droves. CCP has been very quiet on issues concerning core mechanics. This is worrisome because they've previously stated that the focus at this point in development is core mechanics, yet all we've been hearing about this upcoming expansion is content.
And I agree with you 100%, building content on a flawed foundation is a fool's quest in a competitive FPS.
However, give a listen to this: http://dust514.com/beta/news/2013/04/merc-cast-episode-1/
Things sound promising re: core mechanics. We'll know in a few weeks.
