On a "F2P" game. What then? I mean, the game technically isnt F2P from the moment you make your first transaction in it. I know ive spent more than 60$, and most likely more than a 100$ on this game. Its kinda saddening im seeing more Freemium game as of late. Even games with an initial 60$ entry fee, and micro transactions?
I dont want to see games become something you have to factor in when you pay bills, but rather something to play when you are bored or just want to simply play a game to enjoy it.
inb4 you dont have to pay if you dont want to. |

I've only spent -ú30 on the game, so i'm ahead compared to what a new release generally costs. |

Yah, its the "over time" thing. I didnt spend all that money at once, the transactions were spaced out. CCP hasnt done anything crazy with their prices or what they offer, but there are some really bullsh*t F2P games, like Need For Speed World. |

Haven't spent a single cent on it, but I'm faring fine (crappy aiming skills aside, but I'm a logi). To be honest, it's more P2RGT (pay to reduce grinding time) than P2W. |

Well yah, but you also get quite a bit more SP which adds up as the weeks go by. And pretty soon you see you are 2mil+ ahead of your buddy who plays the same amount as you but doesn't pay for boosters. And iirc, this game is supposed be going for years and years... that's alot of bonus SP.
But im talking about F2P games in general. Im not saying DUST is totally P2W all the way. Its the adverts, and the options of buying booster or things that expire over time or after certain uses that are offered in F2P games. The stuff doesn't really exist, but it still has a real life value on it? |

But those aren't usually the ones that succeed. |

A good F2P game doesn't require paying to win, but you'll be so invested in the game you can't help but spring for whatever paid perk. Which of course is a nice contrast from games which charge full retail then what you to give them a little more. |

Never spent a dime in this game, even thou I love it, I'm not doing it because Its not that necessary. Sure, the Aurum gear is kinda OP and such, but with a little patience you can get to or even better with ISK, because usually people that buy a lot of aurum will get itens faster then they can learn how to use them.

This game doesn't do F2P that bad, I haven't spent $60.00 yet, more like $30 or so, but I think I'll probably get to $60 and beyond eventually just in UVTs
Most of the AUR stuff seems overpriced to me, In the Militia department why should I pay like 5k AUR for the BP of an item that cost like 100 isk. However the vehicle stuff where its the same AUR for a 11k ISK item, now thats not so bad. I might pick those up eventually so I can run tanks consistantly when/if I become a tanker.
The suits were a good deal, I had to have the Raven and Logi suits immediately.
All the pay for like 1 item however, not as much fun. I think they will lose alot of AUR business when they release gear that is in the place of that stop gap gear. Like you can buy a T1 Logi suit and the level 3 logi suit, but AUR only for the level 2. AUR sales for that level 2 item should drop drastically when a level 2 isk item is released.
The boosters are to expensive for my taste, but I do only get to play for a limited amount of time, I might consider them "if" it was logged in time rather then actual time.
