Their role on the battlefield is to provide heavily-armed and armored support at medium to long range, assisting infantry and lightly armored vehicles, or taking out orbiting starships. Got this from the website. Apparently, CCP is going to allow HAVs to destroy EVE ships. Not the way I would do it, but whatever |

It also says that LAVs should be used in numbers on the front lines. However, only my corp seems to believe this is correct. |

This made me consider something- eventually, I feel that NULL cannons will just be the same as other heavy turrets, only they fire at MCCs. It could be very possible that there will eventually be HAVs with NULL cannons as main turrets, that just lock on to MCCs and follow them around. |

Ambush in Manus Peak (fishbowl) - oh no they called in 4 tanks but Now confusion spreads as everybody stands around watching as all 4 tanks start shooting into the sky.
I was actually in a match where the opposition did bring in 4 tanks on fishbowl at the start of the match. It was the ultimate spawn camp. |

I was also in a match where the opposition brought in 4 tanks. Only 1 survived because he wouldn't come out and play with my tank. |

I think it was WTF and Seriphin, not sure of the spelling, and there were no squads on our side. So the one tank brought in on our side that managed to land intact lasted a few seconds.
Still it was funny watching the tanks chase us around the map. I never managed more than 2 steps before dying :-) |

Proto tanks are over rated. I played an ambush the other day, the reds brought out 4 tanks, all gunloggi's except one marauder shield tank. The only one to survive was the marauder because he ended up hiding from all of the forge gunners the rest of the match. |

Yep, if you end up in balanced match it can be a lot of fun regardless of the number of tanks running around or even because of the number of tanks in the battle. |

Exactly, when both sides are about even the matches can be epic. While its funny the first time you red line a team, it gets boring real fast. But we've all been there red lined/red lining the other team. |

Just to be honest, I highly doubt HAVs will do much, if any, damage to ships in orbit. Only the unprepared ships, and those not made for combat will have to worry. |

::sarcasm::you mean if people actually bring out AV instead of trowning them selfs pointlessly at the tank like real men. No why should people be forced to run anything other then what they want to. Obviously tanks are OP because I can't go toe to toe with them with my AR and locus grenades.::/sarcasm::
its true tank hunting is a blast, and AV hunting equally as fun. |
