The av is fine. We now need antitank gear.
The problem with the current stuff is firing time. Spool time on the forge gun and locking time on the swarmer is too long. Most of the tank fights against infantry happen at point blank, and you really don't have time to get a lock on anything before you explode into little ribbons of meat. To top it off, the damage they do isn't really that good anyway. Now, yes, av grenades are quick, but not enough punch to do more than annoy a tank, unless you have 5 guys grenading it at the same time.
The problem is particularly bad for ambush games where two tanks can basically spawn camp by chasing you around the map as you spawn.
I suggest a simple, dumb fire weapon. It would be short range, single shot, low ammo capacity, but high as **** damage.
I don't want something that makes tanks obsolete, but something that would "encourage" the driver to back off and give the infantry a fighting chance when there are two or more high level tanks. As it stands right now, there really isn't a point in staying in one of those matches if you happen to be on the wrong side. |

The Assault Forge Gun already does everything you request. Squeeze, point and it shoots in 2.5 seconds. I can put thousands of damage onto a HAV in 10 seconds. If I get position on it they are usually toast.
The lock on and charge time are both Skill Tree functions. They can both be reduced by committing SP to them. Which will cause HAV drivers to post on these Forums that both weapons have been buffed by the Devs without telling anyone. Good times. |

I haven't seen it. Also, at times, I don't have 2.5 seconds, because this happens after I have to turn around and find the bloody tank before I shoot it. Then, I have 2.5 seconds before I can fire on it.
In the mean time, I don't have a giant butt ton of sp invested into either of these weapons, with forge guns being the more skill intensive ones. Until I do, I can't do jack **** about these tanks. I also can't spawn away from them either, so I just end up spawning in the killing zone.
10 seconds is great, except I am usually dead in about 4. This assumes the tank is static. They never are, they are usually busy using cover, and hunting down infantry.

Good times. or even better av nades i can do 10x the damage of an assault forge gun in thoose 10 seconds so wow, just wow. and no the lock on timer is unchaneable. swarm launcher increase blast range and still do for well ccp not caring about swarm launchers. |

So what you want is a weapon that you do not have to invest skill points into that will allow you to destroy something that takes Millions of skill points to operate effectively.... Sounds reasonable to me. Good luck in your endeavor. |

As an AV guy, I can say that 3 regular AV grenades and a 2-3 volleys from my ADV Swarm launcher can kill them FAST. No need to make Tanks obsolete. |

Yep. I will face a Prototype tank in a Madrugar any day over a Proto Forge or even advanced AV Grenades. Proto Breach Forge makes me cry ISK flavored tears. |

Tanks and infantry have never played well together. I don't see why Dust would be any different. It's even true to real life in how they interact. Tank runs roughshod over light infantry, heavy infantry blows tanks to pieces, gets torn up by the more mobile light infantry. |

We had that until QQers cried that they were getting killed by swarm. I've been saying we need shotgun swarm back, even if we can hit personnel with them. |

av nades are op at the moment.
when ever i blow up in my gunlogi its almost allways because of av and flux nades with a nanohive.
now that i have 5k shields maybe it won't be a problem.
p.s ccp make the av nades cost more sp before you good ones. |

As a heavy I must say no to this since the FG and SL are more than enough to down a tank in the right hands. And we are getting the Gallente Plasma Cannon May 6th-ish :D |

They don't do anything? Wow, that quite useless then ain't it? Oh, no that wasn't the case, sorry my bad, it's actually a great weapon. (If I remember correctly it does less damage to shields but more to armor.)
Not to forget this fancy locking thing on it so it's quite hard to miss with it if you know what you are doing :|
