Being killed by your team mates during a battle is something that should not happen. Yet somehow the idiots have discovered how to do this. I am not talking about accidental fog of war stuff, these idiots are purposely killing blues. Additionally they stand in front of you ruining your line of sight. This is total nonsense and I believe it to be an exploit that needs to be addressed quickly. I will not elaborate here on how exactly they are doing it but it is causing players to lose suits and gear. We need a way to report and or block these idiots before they ruin the game. I'll buy no more stuff with Aurum if CCP can not find a way to stop this practice before it gets out of control. |

Tectonious Falcon wrote:Oh my god! They were in your line of sight?!? This is clearly an exploit. lol The team killing is what is the most troublesome .... i have played since the closed beta and only recently have encountered this AWOX behavior. So excuse me if this is something you have come to accept. I think it's childish and wastes my time and potentially my money if Aurum purchased gear is killed by my team mates. If this is standard gameplay then i'll not be buying Aurum and I do not think CCP wants to encourage players to not buy Aurum. |

Ignoble Son wrote:Hum, stand in front of your view, hunh? Sounds to me like your one of them worthless redline snipers, that do nothing but contribute, more than anyone, to your own teams defeat, in a skirmish. Tell me I'm wrong. That's what you were doing wasn't it? Well sounds to me like you got everything you deserved. My hat's off to those who ruined your day, as much as you where ruining their's.
I bet you just use Nova Knives right?
LOL and even though you sound like it I hope you are not one of those worthless guys running around getting kills while your team mates keep trying to shoot down the enemy MCC instead of just depleting the enemy clones.
Sometimes when your MCC is getting blasted it is a good strategy to try and kill all their clones, sometimes you can kill their MCC even when you are behind in the clone death count. I happily will kill the enemy with any an all weapons available, and not just the ones you think have value. Seems like there is no "one" way to play this game. I could be wrong, I am not perfect, I am not always correct, perhaps that is why this thread was posted as a question?
You are so correct, I should play the way you play and then I too can be perfect!
CCP should nerf the sniper rifle right out of the game all we need are Nova Knives .... which I am quite proficient at .... then we'll see how you like New Eden.

Wrong assumption here my friend! Part of the problem is that once in awhile you get deployed to a battle that is already underway, as I did in this case.
I had just entered the battle so I jumped out of the MCC and a butt hook was camping that area in his LAV, sorry to disappoint all those who just made a scenario up in their mind that made them feel good. So if anyone was not contributing it was the idiot in the LAV, so how would you have TKed him? |

Maken Tosch wrote:By the way, OP, if you think this is an exploit, then you will definitely go raging mad once you hear that your corp got robbed of all of it's assets and ISK while CCP does nothing but congratulate the thieves. So untrue, in order to get robbed your corp has to grant access to the thief, a poor choice can result in a poor outcome. Having an EVE toon that is a CEO of a corp as well as a leader of a small Alliance I fully know the player choices you make have consequences, CCP put the AWOXer on my team not me, big big difference.
Never been robbed because I have a choice as to who has access to corp stuff, welcome to New Eden where your actions should have both results and consequences .... think they call it the "Butterfly Effect". |

If I hadn't taken an arrow to the knee I am sure I could have come up with a snappy response to you pithy remark but nonetheless guess again my friend you are completely wrong! But I applaud your self indulgent imagination. |

Never been robbed because I have a choice as to who has access to corp stuff, welcome to New Eden where your actions should have both results and consequences .... think they call it the "Butterfly Effect". You look like a very intelligent player. That said, you probably already realize that even your closest Eve pals can become traitors overnight. It's all part of the meta game of building trust and then exploiting that trust. Take this as an example: Once Upon A Time... There was a massive alliance during the early years of Eve Online called Band of Brothers. They controlled so much of the economy and chunks of null sec that they had practically a monopoly on things. One day a director who was within the innermost circle of trusted members and who has powerful connections and access to key roles became disgruntled. He got in touch with an alliance known as Goonswarm Federation (a fledgling alliance at the time) who were already building up one of the most elaborate spy networks in New Eden history. Later on, when the time was ripe, that director took most of the ISK, Assets, and even went so far as to literally disband the entire Band of Brothers alliance within a single day. Territories became opened to the enemies of BoB and the CEOs and remaining directors were scrambling to do damage control (too little too late). The event made such an uproar that players demanded CCP to undo such treachery and that no one player should have that much power. But CCP responded by saying "Sorry, no rules were broken. It stays as is." Think about it. One man who was among the most trusted in all of New Eden's most powerful alliance became a spy and traitor overnight. If that can happen to such a powerful group, it will happen to your corp one day. When that happens, and human nature indicates it is indeed when and not if, it will be because of a choice I made. I'll be pissed but such is the nature of EVE gameplay.
A simple fix like not allowing vehicular homicide blue on blue to occur for the first 2 minutes of initially entering a battle would solve this. Perhaps a "Retribution" like criminal timer should result after a blue on blue kill, right now no risk for the killers, if they become red to both sides I suspect their like for ganking will subside. Then they could have a taste of the blue sniper rifles they so despise.
As far as player choice is concerned, I check the team composition now and will not battle with II on my team, I also keep track of who the idiots are and don't team up with them once their actions have proven who they are.

DustMercsBlog wrote:A Kick or Forgive option after a TK resolves this. It also stays true to the lore as malfunctioning clones were disabled in Templar One. Autokick should be automatic after three friendly kills.
-100 SP is also a deterrent as is a hefty fine from CONCORD at the end of the game [10-50M ISK] a small portion of it going to reimburse the victim for lost gear. Turning off FF has done nothing, players will find a way to TK if they like. CCP has to implement consequences. Like you I read Templar One, I have read the other EVE books as well, no consequences for this type of activity makes no sense at all. Imagine how it will impact new player retention if his own teammates run him over and his guns have no effect on them. I wonder how many will continue to play, let alone invest Aurum to make micro-transactions? This is a thing that needs to be fixed not banned, I am not against ganking .... look at my corp name lol .... but I am willing to take the sec hits and consequences that come with it .... why so many tears about that? |

At the moment, I keep reading about how EVE players are planning how to capitalize on Dust's assimilation into EVE.
I am hoping that somewhere along the way, us Dust bunnies turn the tables, one economy to rule them all, right? :)
You can topple a line of dominoes from either end...
