Sharpshooter doesn't really help with sniper rifles- if the only way you can see a target is by the dot in the scope turning red, you probably aren't going to hit them anyway- no matter what your sharpshooter is. |

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say here o.o care to elaborate? At the edge of the default range of sniper rifles, you can't even see the target- you're forced to rely on when the scope tells you you're aiming on or near the target- pretty much when the dot in the scope turns red.
I'm saying that sharpshooter doesn't help because even with the extra range, you can't see your target to hit it.

You can snipe fine @ 700+m edit: @ that range you can see everything, body, legs, head, gun, arms, feet :P The TV has nothing to do with it- it's pretty damn new, if fact. Ever try countersniping a sniper that's on top of the huge mountain on manus peak? All you can see is the red dot, because the target is so tiny the dot covers them. |

I could make out the 4-5 guys I saw up there earlier today just fine and I know I was on the other side of the map To be clear, you mean the area around D-7? Sniping into C7 and D7 from about D&E-2&3, occasionally also sniping into F5 from C5 |

Yah, I was surprised you didn't move up sooner, but then I was like well more isk for me! I thought you would have gone up to objective E and climbed the ladder up onto the pipes there. Obj. C is risky, but might have also been alright. We controlled the CRU by objective A, so it would have been a bad idea to go up those pipes for most of the game.
A meatshield of easy-to-kill blue dots is usually useful if you're sniping. If you're alone, you're pretty much undefended, especially if you have someone in a free suit who does not care about red-line suicides. Beware: people are learning.
I have a fit of a dropship with afterburners solely for the purpose of going into kamikaze mode against proto HAVs. It's a shame that the only time I tried it so far, the HAV mysteriously vanished when my dropship took off, and I ended up circling like an idiot the rest of the battle (the last time I tried using my serious dropship during that battle, it landed, then got hit by an orbital before the blue dots got the hint) |
