Just realized that something is missing from the dropships because of the discussion on new ones in future releases.
Why is there not a module that allows for flares/chaff to counteract the swarmlaunchers tracking missiles? Would be interesting to see the angel fire of flares as a dropship books it away from incoming missiles and give them more of a fighting chance. While it wouldn't be perfect every time, the possibility of taking 1-2 missiles from a 4-6 swarm could be useful. Could be either a use with cooldown item or something that has a set number of fires.
Thoughts? |

If you want to stick to the lore, it would basically be an ECM Jammer. Active module which breaks and prevents locking onto the dropship for a short period of time. |

well, we would have to look to the lore to find what tracking methods are being used. Are they using heat, radar, or like in Templar one, some kind of image tracking. |

This is an idea that has been discussed by pilots before. I would agree that it would be nice to have a flare like missile defense mod, either high or low. The idea for a fixed number of flares launched so that some swarms, and proto swarms could still get one or two missiles threw is a good idea.
I'm wondering what you would also think of an anti forge defense as well, as swarms are better against armor and forge guns better against shields. +1 for coming to this conclusion as well |

What could be worse? They already fly into the ground. A rock. A light pole. Anything really.
So now they just fall out the front?

So now they just fall out the front? From what I've seen, they don't turn as sharply anymore. It's more along the lines of moving 5m, turn x degrees, another 5m, turn x degrees, rinse, and repeat. Another thing to consider is that light weapon sharpshooter is going to be gone in uprising too. So swarms aren't going to have that god range they do now. |
