Lets face it, most of the frustration vets have with this game is that, many times, its not about who has the better squad but who has the worst blueberries. You can run around, kill, and cap objectives all you want but unless the bluetards can actually hold them, it just becomes a large game of whack-a-mole.
I firmly believe that there should be a 'kiddie pool' section for newberries below a certain SP level. This is how it would work.
- This section would only be for players that are below a certain defined SP level. Anyone above it would not be able to see or access it. - Newberries would be able to go into the vet section as they wish if they feel that they are beyond what the kiddie pool can offer. - This section would focus specifically on learning how to play the game such as capping objectives and the flow of the game.
What this section would accomplish. - It gives newberries a fighting chance since it will group them all together. Everyone will be around the same level of play and they wont have to worry about being pub-stomped by a squad of proto-suits who they have very little chance against - It gives vets an idea that most of the people that are going to squad up with them are going to be people who know what they are doing. Skill level will be more of a determining factor than knowing what to do.
And the big reason for this? CCP can stop focusing on making the vet section fair for the masses by catering to the lowest common denominator. I would be far more interested/enthusiastic about playing matches if I didnt think that 90% of them would be a redline scenario and I would have a fight for the entire match. |

Not sure where you are going with this. What Im saying is that they would be in separate matches entirely. Besides, you would still have vet redline snipers either way.. SP does not make someone less of a kitten.
Judy - IF PVE is that section then so be it. I just think that grouping FOB blueberries with vets is killing this game as far as interest goes.

PVE is the place to get used to the game controls etc.. that it We don't have PVE, and we're unlikely too for a while as well, I doubt we'll see it till the build after uprising and who knows how far away that is? Besides it might make new players more likely to hang around if they have fair competition rather than getting pubstomped the whole time. |

I am glad somebody understood my smart ass remark. This guy's idea is invalid serves no purpose and changes nothing only hurts game with splitting up community for a irrelevant reason. |

There is a tradeoff on this, yes it would split the playerbase, however you have to take into account "retention".
Here is the real qestion, if you split the player base, in the end, do you get more vets?
I actually don't know. I play Dust beacuse I like EVE. For me there are better shooters out there. I really like BF3 and I really like Planetside 2 (If the range/appearance thing wasn't so buggy). Those games feel fun, when I first started this game and was getting ROFLstomped by Black Suits, it didn't feel so fun. If I didn't play EVE, would I have quit, I dunno. As for players playing really well together, that made me want to get into a corp faster.
Maybe a compromise instead? No Protogear in PUB matches. If thats not enough, then how about going by Meta, say Meta 4 and down or Meta 2 and down. Lets just say the Empires don't allow you to wear the protogear because its a huge war and they don't want to lose technological superiority because you died on the field and they recovered the body. |

Well I was in my raven suit and I still had people crying at be because I was with my corp. I think no matter what people are going to cry and simple fact it a proto suit is honestly not much better than a b suit. Like I said if you see me for the next few weeks it will be in blueprint or a b suit.(lost all my proto):) |

There should be a bonus for sticking with your squad and other people on your team. If people realize that sticking with other benefits them the most, both by reducing the amount of times they did and how much WP they earn, they would most likely stick together. Not necessarily work together but be within a range from one another to benefit the rest of the team. |

I would recommend sticking with a training room so that newberries can learn how to properly use the weapons and drive the vehicles. |

Either way, we need something to train them up before getting thrown into the deep end.
One of the few things that I think COD did right is that they have a section for beginners where they can group up and go against bots.
Its not fair to them that they are at an extreme disadvantage when first starting the game and its not fair to the vets that they cant enjoy 90% of their games because it turns into a redline 20% of the way through. |
