I think the best solution I've heard is still the "make MCC part of the redzone" option.
If you spawn inside the MCC, you have 20 seconds to jump. |

Remember Auto-Frag for campers? I think it was set to 5 seconds back in 1996.... but then Quake was a simple game ;)
maybe 5 seconds is too harsh for Dust but a penalty for lack of movement can be beaten by just nudging every now and then. Also having a guy in the MCC watching the map and barking orders I imagine could work well as a strategy.
I agree its a problem as you could watch a few movies AFK skirmish and rack up a lot of SP and ISK, with no Loss at all.
I have no idea how you would effectively combat it though. Real time experience makes you better so if someone boosts in this way too much they won't get any 'better' at playing the game.
Maybe change the MCC to force people out after a time, rather than killing them?
The forcefield could flicker and suck you out? :) |

Think there's bigger problems in the game than AFK'ers.
- First you need to look at WHY people AFK.
- Why hasn't CCP done anything yet
- Why do people care so much about others being AFK?
MANY people who AFK atm are beta vets trying to hold on and wait for the next build...which btw, seems to be a make or break deal for many. |
