There is nothing wrong with PVE.
Last I checked, CCP was planning to include it.
However, the only game mode I've heard of for PVE is fighting AI Rogue Drones. So, AFAIK it will basically be a combat form of PVE, not mining, manufacturing, or trading.
Hopefully we will get some form of those later, maybe as an add-on to PC district ownership. However, I doubt they will be as interactive as mining or exploration in EVE. They will likely be more like Planetary Interaction or Moon Mining in that only a few players in a corp do it once every few weeks and it passively cranks out stuff.
It would be nice to see a PVE game mode where you have to go out scouting for minerals or whatnot and get attacked by a horde of bandits or angry farmers or something.

The Robot Devil wrote:All I am saying is that half of EVE is PVE and the PVP would not work with out it. I am not saying give me a tractor and a shovel so I can grow crops. I am saying that the PvE part needs to be there. This game isn't that fun. I was hoping for a complex shooter with lots of options in profession and style of play as it is the game is a dumbed down interface with no depth made not to confuse or overwhelm the fps community.
We need a market, missions, ratting, Radar and mag sites to loot along with all the stuff we are about to get. There needs to be lots to bring people in or it will die just another shooter.
Ivan, EvE is in the name of the game so some things should carry over even if you don't like it
I agree with you, and I think on some level the devs do as well. However, without the basics of a solid shooter the rest of that is pointless.
My guess is that the fall expansion (EVE is summer/winter, so Dust might be spring/autumn) will be something like "Bounty" and will include more types of merc contracts and maybe some of the district harvesting and manufacturing that they talked about in the Seeding the Universe talk. |
