Hi,
Long time player of EvE here so when I put two levels into the above skills I was expecting to see my 47 CPU gun drop somewhere to around 42/43, however that has not happened.
How is this skills supposed to manifest itself?

i don't remember the percentage off the top of my head, i think it's 3% per level. that would put you at 44 and some change. at level five it should be just under 39, i think. |

Look at the % it's supposed to reduce it by.
Since I cannot remember lets just say this skill reduces the cpu by 3% per level. Now work out 3% of 47. Then take the answer off 47. It doesn't drop much. Does it. |

Well whatever gun you're using will get i think it's a 10% reduction to cpu usage since you upgraded it twice.
Edit: my mistake it's a 6% reduction |

it won't show it in stats but when you equip it you can do the math to see that it works. |

Well... its a 5% reduction per level. So 10% should easily be viewable even if it only works out to around 4%. The reason I mentioned less was because I dont know about stacking in DUST.
My gun in the fitting screen is the same as it is in the market, this is regardless of if its equipped or not. |

No the UI in DUST is BROKEN at so many lvl that you have to calculate (depending on other fited modules on your suit) to se the difference.
it will only apply in the actual used CPU/PG used on your suit. not in anny description windows or anithing.
p.s. sorry for my super dumy english |

You'll have to compare total CPU used against the total cost of each piece of equipment minus each skill bonus...it's a pain, but it's the only way you'll verify. |

Each level of the light weapon upgrade does a 5% decrease in the amount of CPU your primary gun uses so long as the weapon is considered a "light weapon"
having your level up to 2 would mean that you would get a 10% decrease to the amount of CPU needed to use the gun. This means that your Gun would only take up 43 CPU because the math always rounds down on these sort of stats. The skill is not broken, so this means you either leveled the wrong light weapon skill up, or your just not using a light weapon. Believe me when I say it works, theres a reason I have the skill up to level 6.... |

No skill that I know of in either dust or eve has a "stacking penalty" however there are several modules that do. Any module that has a stacking penalty (or that's supposed to have a stacking penalty.....) will have that warning as part of its description which is usually located at the bottom of the description your reading. |

He was quoting me and I had refered stacking to a skill issue.... my bad.
In relation to skilling the wrong skill.....Light Weapon Upgrade is applicable to assault rifles.... I assume?
I just added another level and although the gun requirements do not look to drop, my overall CPU usage did. It dropped another three points.
So, thanks to all... the skill is working BUT not as we know it from EvE. |

I am an EvE player too.
The in-game UI is... incomplete (it is a beta). The skill works as expected, reducing the fitting requirements. However unlike the EvE fitting screen that immediately shows all skills, loaded charges and implant additions right on the fitting screen and the "show info" of the fitted item, the Dust fitting tool does not. "Show info" always show base market stats.
The actual CPU/PG taken up by the suit is correct* however. You can see it when you are about to fit a module and press "Stats" (square button). You will see the increase in stats and CPU consumption and that shows correct.
BTW, the fitting calculations are always rounded down, so when you have a module that takes 1 PG, and a skill that affects the fitting PG requirements, the module ends up using 0 PG.
Finally, while not even close to EFT, there is a DFT spreadsheet here; https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=66531&find=unread
