lets say you've got a guy sitting at an elevated place overlooking a point and hes got a couple nanohives that the smurfs dropped him.
at the same time a squad of 4 is rolling towards the point to take it and start heading within the flux users range and a hostile group at the point.
flux guy just starts throwing these grenades at the group like there's no tomorrow and the flux grenades hit some of the people in the squad as they're fighting and he friendly fires his own team but they don't lose their shields.
the hostile squad loses with a key factor being their lack of shields.. lets say there was a mass driver guy up there as well to just guarantee that fact and he was hitting the hostile squad below, as well as his own team but not harming them.
what do you guys and gals think? is that okay? leave your thoughts.. |

What do you mean "is that okay?" If it kills more red guys than blue guys, it's fine, always. |

I think it is ok, it's just like when an HMG is going off on a crowd, or a tank. |

those aren't area of effect. you can't shoot your bullets over cover and remain largely untargetable. |

Not understanding why you picked something so miniscule as flux grenades as your Item of choice when bringing up this problem? Blue dots don't take any damage when walking through Orbitals or when I run them over with my LAV. Flux grenades are fine.
If you're asking for friendly fire, then please change the title and body of your post. |

You're using a weapon on an enemy. Yes, it's OK.
Flux grenades with mass drivers is a common tactic. |

It's about as untargetable as a sniper who hides between shots, a tank on a hill, anyone who ever climbs a ladder to get an advantageous position. |

Nothing that can be done with it, pretty careful planing fro the sounds of it, if so, nothing wrong with that. In anycase, to my memory, it was confirmed that friendly fire WILL be activated for things such as corp battles, etc.

It's no worse than calling in an Orbital on an almost-overrun objective in Skirmish when there are still several friendlies who should logically be killed as well. |

...wait... are people now discovering flux nades?
I can't remember seeing anyone complain about them before, or even mention them. Not saying OP is complaining. They do their job. I don't see what's wrong with them...besides the bug that sometimes insta kill people. |

no i havent "recently discovered flux grenades" hahah.. it's something i myself have been doing with the mass driver for a while..
but i mean.. it feels like theyve got all this power in the current meta, and that due to the current mechanics in lolpubs that they're actually really simple to use in order to perform well with and even change the tide of a small battle.
i mean.. i know they're pubs, and this is just one of many examples (yes i'm aware of dropping ob's on friendlys, try dropping an ob on a squad mate as he runs in to hack a point if you want to be cool) but it's kind of like this fake strategy that shouldn't be possible.. i dunno. it's weird.
am just wondering what others thought, if i thought it was overpowered this would be in feedback... im also against adding friendly fire to pubs. just want to add that. |

To your point (which is admittedly hidden between the lines), I do think FF should be introduced. We should start with it only in corp battles as planned, then slowly scale it back as we see the reaction of the player base. I don't think it makes much sense to callously call in orbitals with your team in the blast radius. If my grenade only knows how to kill, why should my orbital be safer? Secondly, I think it would be a cool prospect to consider calling in an orbital, only to realize that calling it in will kill your squad and the enemies. You might see people start to pull out just before an orbital, and that just appeals to me.
That's my take anyway |

yeah no i agree with you there.. it'd be interesting because there'd be a very clear player behavior indicator that an orbital was coming before it was placed.
i dunno tho i think smurfs would probably cost me more suits than red dots if it was in pubs tho.. |
