One of the reasons this weapon is so dangerous is the high amount of damage that it does with just 1 shot, but the solution to this problem isn't nerfing the Forge Gun.The solution is to increase it's signature rating during the following situations: When the Forge Gun is being charge and left like that it should emit a signature rating that is visible to everyone.
[*] After the shot is fired the signature rating will slowly disappear in 5 seconds |

In my opinion the other reason why they are so dangerous is that you often have a very limited idea of where the shot came from. Perhaps if they showed up on the map when charging and their shots left a brief trail like the sniper shot that would help (and that could apply to railguns as well). |

+1 Too many times when I'm in my HAV and I get shot by a forge gun, I have to RETREAT and HIDE as opposed to ENGAGE and DESTROY, simply because I'll be blown up by the time I manage to locate the forge gunner. HAVs should perform the latter, but when it comes to concealed forge gunners I obviously have to perform the former. |

Don't expect much sympathy from...anyone who isn't a tanker...
When 95% of people see a tank, they have to retreat and hide, including many Forge Gunners. One or two things making tankers afraid is hardly a bad thing...
That being said, I still think this is a great idea and makes the use of FGs more fair. |

good luck selling this idea to ccp, single match killed 4 HAVs 6 LAVs in a ambush match, was i hiding, nope. plan as day in rock with no cover facing the scared tanks. i say this is a really bad idea and yes i bring out tanks(mostly somas all due knowing might die) and forge guns can be tricky but their guns blue glow is more then enough for me and the much better tankers to spot and shot first. |

If you know what you're doing as a tanker, you have infantry support when going up against AV weapons.
If you know what you're doing supporting a tank, you can see that blue glow a mile off and line up a Sniper shot or get in close with a Shotgun or otherwise demolish the Heavy threatening your tank. |

Yes I've had many times where my squad has warned me of a forge gunner. But many times when the charge up glow can't be seen and I get shot out of nowhere. |

This isn't so much a benefit for HAVs, the better of which can survive about nine forge shots, as it is for dropships. Many of them can't even survive one, they're almost always too far from forge gunners to be able to see the blue glow, and having any sort of infantry support 50m up isn't realistic. |

If they're only warning you of the Forge Gunner, they're not doing their jobs. Their job is to kill AV, so you can do your job and kill the enemies trying to hunt your infantry support. |
