Not like wings on an airplane, but like bird's wings. The propulsion system is a great idea, but I think the ship itself would be way more manevurable if two wings were on top that you could flap around to gain speed and change directions. Notice all the birds outside? Evolution itself has tested this idea time and time again. It works, and not only does it work, but it works very efficently. There's a reason birds don't use jets to move around, and its not because they don't have the technology. Or at least make it a module. That would be awesome. |

I wouldn't want to alrm you sir but I believe you've made a mistake with the whole not like a plane, but like bird wings.
You see through evolution birds have developed wings to evade ground based predators. However by flying they've made themselves great targets in the open air for shooting. Where Airplanes have no natural predators. Just saying |

Dammit! I was going to comment on this thread earlier, but I couldn't get the word "ornithopter" to shake loose from my poor, addled brain.
And sandworms would be fun, at least on appropriately desertey planets. They should only eat tanks and redline snipers.  |
