There is no BPO drop ship.

Probably not. The dragonfly comes with the Merc Pack, and if you're buying AUR you should only buy the merc pack (it's the best deal, comes with stuff, and a 30 day active booster.)
The logi suit might be alright, but look at the isk cost of a T1 logi suit. It's not that high at all.
The raven suit is trash. You'll see guys who bought it QQ and say it's worth it, but T1 assault suit is not great. It's not a huge step above MLT assault suit either. The type-II assault suit is fantastic, and makes the T1 look like trash. Don't use T1 assault. |

The militia BPO is good O.O
It will save you lots of ISK because you aren't spending anything. Some guys in my corp have well over 100mil because they've been playing pure BPO MLT gear for over a month. The best thing about it is that you'll want a LOT of ISK saved up once you unlock all of the proto gear, because proto is expensive. You're looking at slightly over 200,000 ISK per death, so if you die just five times that's 1mil ISK lost.
The other great thing about running the MLT BPO suits is that it'll help you improve your game play. Running around in proto or other high and expensive suits vs other players in MLT gear isn't going to help you learn anything. Once you put on proto gear for a corp battle, you'll be king because you have plenty of experience with fighting people in your same level of gear. If the enemies are better geared than you are, you'll also know what to do.
It's just another reason why KDR means next to nothing. Sure you might get a high KDR by running proto in pubs, but it doesn't mean you're a better player. You'll also be rolling in ISK while the proto guys are not! |

Joseph Ridgeson wrote: Don't worry too much about money. Work it out like this: X * Y < Z
X is the price of the suit, Y is the most amount of times you will die in a match, and Z is the average cash you make for a match. An Assault Type I with 2 M Shield Extenders, 2 M Plates, 1 M Nanohive, Basic Locus Grenades, and an M Assault Rifle costs 11,090 (4,290 with a Raven) ISK. Assuming you are going to get at least 150,000 ISK for an Ambush, you can safely die 13 times and still make a profit (34 with a Raven) . Of course you are not likely to die that many times and you are more likely to get 170k+ but that is the calculation I did when I started: I just assumed I would never die more than 10 times in a match or dying 10+ times would be so rare that the times I only died 6 times would make up for it.
Now do the calculations with what I was talking about please, the Assault - Frontline suit ^.^ (That suit is free BTW)
0*1,000,000 = 0
So with a free suit, you can die one million times and you lose zero isk. The 'Raven' Assault Type-I costs 19,800 AUR, and you can buy 20,000 AUR from the PSN store for $10. (Side not btw, but the merc pack is the best deal on the market.) So that's almost a twenty dollar suit for a BPO type-I assault suit.
So let's check out the stats of the Assault - Frontline suit.
Max PG: 26 Max CPU: 150 Shield: 125 Armor: 175 Shield Recharge: 15.0 HP/s Delay: 6 s Depleted Delay: 10 s Movement Speed: 5.0 m/s Sprint Speed: 7.0 m/s Sprint Duration: 15.0 s Stamina: 150.0 Stamina Recovery Rate: 15.0 /s High Slot: 2 Low Slot: 1 Equipment: 1 Sidearm: 1
And now for the Type-I Raven:
Max PG: 30 Max CPU: 150 Shield: 125 Armor: 175 Shield Recharge: 25.0 HP/s Delay: 6 s Depleted Delay: 10 s Movement Speed: 5.0 m/s Sprint Speed: 7.0 m/s Sprint Duration: 15.0 s Stamina: 150.0 Stamina Recovery Rate: 15.0 /s High Slot: 2 Low Slot: 2 Equipment: 1 Sidearm: 1
So what's the difference between the two? Four PG, and extra 10 HP/s for shield recharge, and one low slot. Also, you lose 4,290 going with the setup the guy above me had for each death in the Raven suit. You lose 0 ISK when you die with the free one. You might be fine with the price of the Raven suit for what you get, but others may not want to spend almost twenty dollars for four PG, 10 more HP/s for shield recharge, and one low slot, and have to spend ISK on top of that every time they die.
I will agree that the logi suit is different. The type-I logi suit is much better than the MLT, especially because of the equipment slots. Again that comes down to spend almost $20 or just lose the isk. We don't have a player run market atm, so kind of hard for us to tell how much ISK is worth one AUR. |

And to clear up some possible confusion, the Assault - Frontline suit is entirely free. It comes with BPO mods and a BPO MLT assault rifle. I change stuff around, but grabbing the Assault - Frontline BPO suit and changing out a mod or two for personal preference is not a bad thing. Or, if you're really cool, you could just leave it as-is, because it's actually a pretty good suit.
From tests done by other skilled FPS players, using a completely new character (arbiter, because it's the best of the starter fits) and without spending any SP, you are able to easily stay above 3:1 KDR. So that's Level 1 weaponry, Level 0 AR, etc., etc. and using the Assault - Frontline suit. They weren't even going for KDR too, they were playing the objectives while killing red dots in the process.
I don't think I'm on that level yet - I'd estimate myself to be an average to below average FPS player. But I can still stay above a 1.5 KDR and run around hacking objectives and earning WP on new characters I started to test this so I don't make an ass of myself before posting this on forums xD!
BTW I'm not placing too much emphasis on KDR, as it is an almost useless stat, but I know someone is going to post, "lol you're not going to get any kills using basic suitz and you need sp or your bad and need type-I or better not to die" |
