Now serious help:
What class are you playing? (Scout, Assault, Heavy, Logistics)
And what role did you pick? (Straight up assault, sniping, Anti Vehicle, etc) |

as far as making a new toon i would say that after one game it is way to ealry to tell and since no one has any idea where you put your skill points to begin with this maybe be kinda hard to help but here we go.
If running a enforcer class i would begin with a few points into AR skills maybe 2 lvls, then i would concentrate on getting your type 2 suit and sheild tech( boosters, regulators, etc.....).
If your rolling a hvy....... yes respec as enforcer lol
If your rolling a logi get used to dying. you are almost always gonna be squishy. But you will mk good amount of money and skill with reps and revives.
If your rolling a scout, well you can go a few diffrent ways, your can try your hand at scout shotgun which you will see alot of ppl using. Or you can go with the traditional path of being a long range threat and put points into drop suit command to lower your profile and focus on sniper rifles and Light weapon sharp shooter.
This is all just from what i have done or seen on Dust so far. I roll a heavy myself. So it is a challenge to give you spot on advice without know what you have already spent skill points on and what you have availible to you.. hjope this helps atleast a little. |

Decide what role you want to play before spending any more SP. Then do some research, as to what skills you need to lvl. first. Be patiant your going to continue to suck untill you hit 1mill SP or more. If you want to play an assualt based character i would recomend, leveling these skills, Assualt dropsuit, assualt rifle operation, assualt rifle profinciancy, weaponry, shields, PG and CPU skills.

The truth is this game is 50% skill and 50% gear. Unlike battlefield or CoD where you have a slight advantage with gear and skill points, here in DUST not having stuff WILL HURT you.
Message for all new players: YOU ARE GONNA SUCK! There is not getting around it. Most people have been playing sincenclosed beta. If you are just now starting you are atleast 3 months behind the average player. You will get stomped a lot. Don't let this get you down. As you skill up more and more it will get easier, but it will suck for the first month or so depending on how much you grind. |

Here is a tip. Suck it. :) You should have read that title before posting it, I'm laughing my ... off.
Actually, a good tip is not to give up, try playing in squads with a microphone, start reading the battlefield, and learn what works for your play style.
It will take time, but once you get to about 4 million SP, you should be able to get more kills than if you had less than that, provided you put those skills into meaningful places. |

Odds are youre better than any PRO players or Contrabanjoe. I've seen him go 0-fer in quite a few matches.
Just invest pts into Weaponry to max it out for damage, then get your shields/suits up. Save the weapon for last considering the difference in damage potential is small atm.
