In my last six-eight hours of play I haven't played even one game where the scores were at all close. Either we pub stomped them or they pub stomped us. Not very fun in either case. My aurum money is now my Defiance money.

I wonder why people have such stark differences in experiences. I get close games about half the times, with winners often having single-digit clones remaining. Maybe it's because I play Ambush almost exclusively? |

Finished a match Friday that was 0 to 7. It was fun PBFH on one size and sudreddit on the other. |

I know right? Ill get the occasional pub stomp but most of the time I get multiple corp squads on both sides of the match...
Maybe it depends on what time people play?
If your playing when less people are online it could make it harder to get good games... |

Even just a couple of battle areas designated "for more advanced players" would help alleviate the problem to some degree surely the devs could that small thing right? |

You mean either your team pubstomped or was pubstomped. There's no 'we'. I assume if you actually contributed, the games where you were pubstomped would be close games. |

I have the same experiences in skirmish tho, yeah their are games we're we get stomped and others we do the stomping but theres enough close games still, problem is when the game goes "right" no one says "oh wow it's so good when it works" but as soon as one bad thing happens, "OMFG THS SHI-GAME!"

I played a bunch yesterday, and had some great competition. Two games were wash-outs... one for, one against. The rest were nice and tight, with lots of movement and points always changing hands.
So good, in fact, that one of the tightest matches was on "Anus Peak" (intentionally misspelled), when there were NO snipers on either team, and no red-line campers. Actually, felt much more like a 16v16 corp match than your typical pub match.
Perhaps I just got lucky... |

I rarely get close games, no matter the game type. All I play these days is Ambush OMS though, less tanks than ambush (usually), and less AFK players than skirmish (usually). Every so often I'll get a good game, but those are typically few and far between. |

I've had some seriously bad pub stomps, I once had SI, UnReal and Internal Error, I was hoping for a map in which I could hide on top of buildings but I got Manus Peak.
I've had some fantastic close matches though, was in a match once that we were losing until we got an OB, then we won |

So What was the point of joining? To give out free ISK to CBJ and his taxes?
And the OP is right, Stomped or Do the Stomping, there's only one or the other in this game as of now. Rarely will I ever get a match where the matches are tight. It's either a complete blowout for one of the two sides and it's getting boring reallll quick... |

Manus peak is a bad map.. well bad if you don't enjoy sniping or vehicles.
I can sprint from A side spawn cap B and get ready to defend it before the other team reaches whatever complex it happens to be comprised of.
Occasionally ill get another scout to do battle with or a really good lav driver but most of the time I have to wait 10-15 seconds before someone shows up. I haven't even tried it with proto catalyzers yet... |

If you go solo there's a greater chance you'll be pub stomped against a team stacked with three different squads of high tier players. Don't know why but I will never go solo again but that's just my experience. |

I feel like a lot of the games I play are very close - it could be that those are the matches I remember most. Also in a lot of the matches where my team loses horribly I come out of the match ok since I have decent gear and am used to playing lone wolf (even though I play with 100 percent of the online dust players in my corp) - so maybe the losses I play in don't sting as bad.
Often I will look at the teams prior to the match starting and say to myself wow this will be totally one sided - only to be correct but with the entirely opposite side winning then I predicted :p Things are a lot less predictable then you might think and I bet even the top squads get surprised frequently in pub matches.

I find that most matches tend to be either close or an absolute massacre, usually of the opposing team. Perhaps it's just my luck - I don't normally run in a squad, so I doubt I'm pubstomping solo . The exception to this is Manus Peak. Most of my matches there end with one team having at least 60 clones left at the end of the match. |
