This is the future, but even in the future, vehicles must run on something, have limited capacities, and should at some stage run out of fuel or ammunition and be forced to refuel and rearm.
Refuelling would be a simple matter of sitting near a Supply Depot (as we have now for repairs) and similar with Ammunition. Even have specialist Vehicular Nano-hives that replenish and /or repair Vehicles and refuel them.
This would a) prevent or at least inhibit hostile tanks from simply blowing up Supply Depots, b) ensure that even a tank that survives on the field fro an entire battle is not Omni-present and never forced to retreat for any reason due to cover, and c) gives a level of realism that most games have (at least on the ammunition front).
Even non-Hives run out eventually... and Tanks cannot carry an endless supply of everything, nor LAVs, or Dropships. |

My HAV runs on a mini fusion reactor which can last 100years before needing to be decommissioned
Ammo wise i would rarther have a cargo bay instead |

- Vehicles in New Eden use capacitor. It hasn't been stated that capacitor will be required to move, but I think it could make for an interesting mechanic. Especially for aircraft. Neut the crap out of a dropship and it just falls to the ground and crashes? Neat!
- As the poster above mentioned, I want a cargo bay for my vehicles. I want to be able to put different ammo types in it so that my gunners or myself can swap out as needed. When I run out of ammo I will call for a resupply via the OMS menu, just like how I call in a vehicle. This method has the benefit of adding cost-per-match to vehicles without necessarily requiring they die, in that some ammo will be consumed no matter what. This allows us to buff the survivability of vehicles without making them too cost effective.

I'm kinda with you on this. Its silly that all the ground troops have to resupply but vehicles are unlimited ammo. The fuel I dont see as a big deal. But the ammo would promote more strategy and make supply depots valuable to both foot soldiers and vehicles. |

Not to put a rain on the whole nanohive to replenish ammo/fuel thing.. but would you not simply build the tank with one inside.
For fuel i say flat out no. We have advanced reactors for that. For ammo, i can see this happening at some point. But we gotta keep it fair, i use ammo you have to deal with me not having heat on my guns. |

As stated in the OP, nanites do run out eventually. |

I agree they should have ammo. As for the nanohive inside the veh? sure it is something you could EQUIP on your tank, and vehs should have equipment slots! They should require ammo and be able to use veh equipment. |

Now that's a good idea! Having equipment slots on vehicles would be very beneficial & add a bit more to the game. Ability to drop uplinks far into the battlefield. Nanohives to infantry on the front line, or even dropping proximity mines to mine an area or a nice lil surprise for that pursuing enemy HAV.
Ok that was a little OT, but to bring it back on topic yes different & limited ammo on vehicles. As long as they have the ability to resupply themselves, even just a little, if they are cut off. With Ton's vehicle nanohive/equipment idea. |

As far as ammo, there needs to be an easy way for aircraft to restock. Perhaps let MCCs ressuply aircraft that fly by, and give dropships the option to sacrifice passenger space for ammo to become a logi ship.
Maybe dropships could even drop nanohives for infantry! |

Yes please - ammunition definitely. Fuel is a bit more iffy though - vehicles would likely be powered by similar reactors to the ones found in EvE, which can fuel ships indefinitely. |
