E3 2011 Trailer
Will the assault rifle used in this trailer ever be returning? I see it in the life cycle loading screen from time to time..
And on a side note, was that trailer made with UE3 or the Carbon Engine they moved away from? It looked like the finished version of what we have now. |

That was the old texture for the AR. It was scrapped along with most of the old textures during the switch to Replication(?). It will not be returning, and no, it is not a different gun from the AR. |

Probably this: They had it made when they were using that previous AR model, and decided to keep it since its already made, and it would cost more to get a model of the current AR made as well. |

Because the texture changed months before that video was made, idiot. This was back in MARCH that those textures were used. That video was posted in DECEMBER. I understand that you're a newb, but seriously, it couldn't hurt to use your noggin once in a while. |

That video was posted in December 14, 2012... 4 months ago... There hasn't been a change in textures in over a year... And there is a difference in changing a weapon's texture and a weapon's model. The current weapon model we have now is nowhere near the one in either of the two videos I linked to.
And for the record what is with the name calling such as "idiot" and "newb", it wouldn't hurt to use manners once in awhile...

I use texture and model interchangeably, because for most people they don't understand that there is a difference. But since you do, okay.
And I will insult someone for not taking 10 seconds to think, or 10 minutes to research. This thread has popped up countless times since the Open Beta started, and I'm getting tired of newberries and their ignorance.

I meant march/spring of LAST YEAR, when that trailer was released. And fine, nitpick what you want, but you know what I mean. That model was scrapped back in July-ish, along with all the old models.
And since you seem to know about "changes in texture" from a year ago, I would hope you know about the changes in models from a year ago. I will call you scrubs whatever I want, I'm tired of your ignorance. |
