as much as i love padding my already grossly inflated kdr, i really would like to see the player base in general increase in skill. makes for better matches in general. everyone has more to learn, and you'd be surprised at what people can share..
so.. lets post some protips for any of the newberries having troubles in game. who knows, maybe that players lurking the forum and'll give u a good fight the next game you bump into em, rather than being a free kill.
-if you've taken heavy fire and have managed to back off, STAY IN COVER. they have not instantly swapped to another target, they're desperately waiting for you to pop out to finish the kill. back off, you wont win. -snipers giving you grief? try constantly moving around in sporadic directions. most often the snipers line up a shot for you to run into, so throw them off. occasionally stop sprinting, backpeddal suddenly, stop for a split second, go left and right randomly. you'll force them to hover the reticule over you instead which is a much harder shot. try to make it a habbit to move randomly even if you're not worried about the snipers, and go to the extremes when you are. -pay attention to what your teammates are doing. if you see a blue running the opposite direction of you with hurt shield SOMETHING IS WRONG. do not rush blindly to take his spot, move out of his way and try to give cover fire so he can escape. he's running for a reason. same goes for if you see a blueberry out of cover die. don't rush out into the open like rambo, hug your cover and check to see if theres any kills you can cleanup and revive him if you can/fallback if its to much. don't die the same way they did. -moving up a set of stairs or around a corridor? if you're going up stairs check behind you up on the ledge as your going up and scan the top. a lot of players like to wait for players to move past and shoot you in the back, so be prepared. going around a corner that you think might have reds? don't stare forward and immediately turn to look and see that you're getting shot.. assume they're there and stare at the wall where their heads could potentially be, peak the corner with cover nearbye and dont sprint so you're ready to fire immediately.
not suggesting im the end all, beat all player.. but i know i've got some stuff i can share.. hopefully some of you out there feel the same as well and want to help the newberries. or troll away, looking forward to some funny **** too. |

If you think a sniper might be hiding in a location, aim at the location. It will usually light them up, not sure if the profile dampening skills interfere with that. |

you gotta swap out the suit because theres a limit.. but yeah if i can add to that if you have swarms or forge guns you can swap out instead of reloading. could be faster depending on your weapon and skills also swapping out to a different suit and back again regenerates all damage. it's good to have a militia heavy dropsuit or above as the first loadout on ure selection, so clicking it immediately gives you access to it and also leaves u in a suit that can take a lot of abuse if you get jumped while swapping back. |

If someone on your squad has Line Of Sight to a target (red, tank, sniper), it will show up in everyone's view. Profile dampening has no effect on this. If you can put your cross hairs on it, everyone can see it.

If you have a nanite injector for the love of kitten learn how to use it. Dont res people who are out of cover in the middle of a gunfight it only gets them killed. If there is a gunfight but they are in cover and out of immeadiate danger then res them because that AR of MD could turn the tide of your engagement. IF there is nothing going on then stop going for kills because a revive is worth 60 WP and not only are you doing better for yourself, but also for your team.
Also dont throw yourselves at the enemy all the time as if you have this stupid idea in your head that you are invulnerable, usually circumventing your enemies is the best way to go. Though thats not to say a bit of brute force isnt required from time to time.
People just need to put thought into how they move around.... IM super guilty of making thoughtless charges into mobs of red dots from time to time. |

Protip: Blue berries make better scouts then soldiers Count on em to spot your back -but not protect it. Always try to keep the high ground if out numbered. Keeping close to team is a good idea - but standing on top of them just endangers you both, keep distance enough to cover fire, though. Get your grenades to III at LEAST if you solo a lot. If you get fluxed prepare a quick nade - a rush is coming. When up against I.E. just leave if there's no squad on your side - other corps will just use low level gear - we just want it done and over with so we can get to the next repetitive game.
And the best pro tip of all time: Strong friends can make up for your lack till you get on there level - make some allies. |

Another pro tip to add to that, dont spawn on camped CRU's...... look at your map before you spawn, PRESS SQUARE! I dont understand how the entire team (while being camped) continues to spawn on said CRU. It boggles ones mind. |

Complex shields takes shield enhancement IV. GET IT!
Grenades have a 5 second fuse. Cook your grenade for at least 3 seconds if you're planning on throwing it close by. You want it to explode right when it get's to your enemy. If they see it hit the ground, most enemies will avoid the explosion.
Flux grenades destroy shields in a huge blast radius. This makes killing assault suits really easy and even makes killing heavies easier.
Heavies have lower accuracy at the beginning of their fire. Take cover and wait for them to stop firing, then poke your head out and aim at their head. Once they start firing at you, don't allow yourself to take damage; it will start to accelerate exponentially. Also, heavies tend to be over confident. Many will follow you into a grenade or remote explosive.
Many people will follow a scout into a remote explosive, period.
Many people won't aggressively close with a shotgun... but you have a sidearm.
A head shot from a scrambler pistol ends most fights. Heavies are real easy to headshot.
When facing a mass driver (a good one), don't hide behind cover. Either advance, or flank, or retreat. MD lose to AR in 1v1. MD also have a hard time hitting you if you just behind the lip of a hill. Don't let the MD get high ground.
Laser Rifles do more damage as they fire, so don't let yourself get caught at the end of the stream of fire running out in the open. When you get hit, take cover immediately and wait for full shields. Most LR users stack damage mods so they are fragile and are used to enemies dying fast. So if you wait a bit behind cover, they will move to a new target. Flank and advance and you can kill them and save your team some serious grief.
Get swarm launcher lvl 1. Shoots 4 shots before needing to be reloaded. Stack damage mods and tanks WILL run from you.
nano hives plus packed AV nades equals death for unwary tanks.
shield regulators decrease the amount of time you have to stay behind cover before you start recharging shields. Ever notice some scouts regaining shields in the middle of a gunfight? Shield regulators.
Shotguns go a eff ton of damage to some pretty impressive ranges. One shot can be one kill. But that is also it's weakness. Get real close and keep moving opposite the way they are tracking their shotgun and you can beat them in cqc.
Forge guns take time to charge but WILL one shot you. Anticipate their shot and jump and you pretty much have a free kill.
Scouts with scanning skills can be dangerous. High levels of dropsuit command (for now) and profile dampening and you won't see him coming. And if he has high levels of scan percision, he can see where you are facing from at least 25 meters away. Nova Knives usually one shot people from behind.
Using militia gear, you can make a lav out of your free BPO that can survive a hit from most AV's. This will make traveling to far objectives or in manus peak much safer and faster.
missiles do 130% damage vs armor...
assault forge guns are the bane of shield tanks.
If you go to your fittings page in your neocom and let a suit load while in the warbarge, you will spawn faster.
Don't solo! sticking with your squad you at least some random blue dots will decrease your number of deaths AND increase your number of kills.
Keep glancing at your radar. Make sure you have support around you. If they die off, RUN! You do your team more good alive.
Also, stay aware of your objectives. If they start to blink, you can usually get their in time to get an easy kill and save the objective. |

The current spawn system spawns you next to blue dots. If your entire team has been pushed to the CRU... pick a fast suit with a lot of EHP and a drop uplink and RUN for a safe place to drop that uplink. It can break the campfest, if you're lucky. Also, try to coordinate your spawns with your squad/ team to overwhelm your enemies ability to kill you all. |

If you go down and want to be revived, spam the "call for help" button. Many vet logi's will make a point to try to get you if it's possible.
Take a second and try to see how the fight you just died in is going. If there is a chance your team will win it and be able to revive you, wait. It's free points for your team (orbitals) and get's you back in the fight far faster. |

The spawn location will eventually change even if your entire team is elsewhere. That said, don't immediately spawn if you're getting camped , wait it out and you might get spawned in a safer place. |
