Still no word on the whole merc pack / AUR issue? Basically, two things need to be clarified before I start giving you money again. These questions assume that this is not commercial release, as was clarified by a dev post.
1). Will there be a character whipe on commercial release? The announcement section says there will be no more whipes barring something crazy, but my understanding was that the post was in response to people thinking there would be more beta whipes, not that there wouldn't be a whipe on commercial release.
2). If a character whipe of any kind occurs, will we be refunded our merc packs (specifically the packs offered now which do not include the reimbursement disclaimer as they used to)? I assume those packs purchased when it did say there we would get AUR refunded on commercial release will be refunded because that's what the purchase agreement stated. If not, well that will be a whole different issue to be resolved somewhere aside from these forums.
I want to buy more AURUM, but I don't want to do so if you plan to whipe SP for commercial release but NOT refund AURUM. Your lack of clarity in this matter is costing you money. I want to buy more merc packs. About a third of the people in my corp want to buy more merc packs. We aren't doing so and won't do so until this is cleared up.
Assuming (unscientifically of course) that this trend is more or less true across the greater player population, that's a lot of money you're not getting. We want to give you our money, CCP, but many of us are not willing to do so without knowing how things are going to work. The beta is, at times, fun, but not nearly fun enough to be spending money on it.
Also, if this thread gets merged or locked because there is some other thread similar to it, fine, we'll stop spending money until it reaches commercial release. I'm appealing to your desire to make money while you continue to develop this game. I can't say how much you'll be losing if you don't clear this situation up but at least four people of a corp of twelve aren't currently spending the money we'd like to be. Please let us give you our money again. |

Maken Tosch wrote:This has already been discussed to death. Please use the search function rather than create a new thread asking the same question that has been answered (or theorized) by dozens of players. Don't expect CCP to give us an answer any time soon because everyone isn't getting a straight answer from them.
Actually, It hasn't been answered. I've been involved in several of those threads and there are plenty of theories, no answers.
On the off chance there is an answer somewhere, the search function, which I HAVE tried, isn't finding it. Having an answer buried in the middle of a fifty page discussion in no way counts, especially if the search function can't easily find it.
Finally, you're last sentence is odd. I definitely expect a straight answer, post haste. I'd try the whole contact CCP directly but the answers are so canned you can tell they rarely if ever take the time to actually comprehend the question, and oft times take the dismiss it rather than resolve it approach.
We've spent money. We're customers. Simple good business means a straight answer is exactly what we should be getting. The fact that we are not is the entire point of this thread.
If we do get an answer, I'll gladly edit my original post to include it, even though this is the kind of thing that should be made abundantly clear in the announcements.
There is a dev that staed he brought the matter to the attention of CCP, but that we would have to wait. I'm fine with that, but it's a holiday and I'd really like to give CCP some money. Not doing it until they clear this up.

Parson Atreides wrote:[I'm pretty sure this answers your question, and is stickied on the first page of General Discussion. Notice how they don't use the word "beta", meaning they don't plan to reset for commercial release either. As for whether or not you'd get Aur/Merc pack/Event Items back I can only draw on common sense to say: Yes, you would. Not only have they done it every time a wipe has occurred in the past, but they'd make every player in the game who has spent money (which is the player-base they want to keep) angry if they failed to.
Thanks for the thought out response. However, that didn't answer it and falls under the whole player theorizing side of the problem. As I mentioned in the original post I was aware of that post and NO it does NOT answer the question. That post was made after everyone started complaining about the possibility of another beta SP reset; however, there were posts that clearly stated a reset would happen on final release. I anticipate it likely still will, otherwise all the beta players will have an interesting headstart. That MAY be CCP's intention, but I'd like to hear it confirmed.

No resets, no wipes. Quit crying.
The game is released its freely available on the PSN for anyone that wants to play.
lol. People you like you make me laugh to no end. Reading comprehension required - might need to start posting that. Also, you're not CCP, you have zero idea, you're just parroting what other people have said. Now quit QQ'ing about people asking questions. |
