You do know that we only have the baby tactical strikes at the moment right? Expect much bigger explosions in the future.
Also, because ultimately size doesn't matter, I actually prefer the OB effects in Dust. |

That could be the main reason for doing it.
Losing the fight? Just glass the planet/moon and lock the resources for a while.
Obviously you would need certain obstacles in place to make it hard to do. |
