The current dropship right now are too weak and sometimes useless unless they can spawn clones. At least give the dropship passengers the ability to fight back, use their weapons inside the dropship, it's already too fragile in a battlefield full of exploding things. Because right now Tanks are dominating the battlefield and would just steamroll everyone in their path. Dropships should be able to counter them with passengers firing at the Tanks. |

I should have been more clear, passengers who are not using the turrets should be able to use their swarm launcher or forge guns inside the dropship. The current turrets suck, unless you equipped your dropship with blaster turret, the missile turrets are pretty much useless and railgun turrets overheat too fast and both have crap splash damage. Besides I don't see why not, it's an open dropship. |

The mass driver thing may be legitimately power, but the forge gun not so much. You'd have to slow the ship down too much and become a floating target to be popped. -=Even so=- there would still be plenty of counters for the dropship. There really is not excuse for the passengers to not be able to fire when the bay doors are down. |

The dropship needs the option to remove both turrets for the CPU/PG and to gain WPs for MCRU spawning like drop uplinks. Leave the killing for gunships. |

I'd rather not risk my dropship over CCP's physics. As is currently firing a railgun mounted on a dropship can cause it to tip over, I couldnt imagine a forgegun. Also the doors currently close on the dropship once it takes off and pilots dont have control of them. |

The physics can be tweaked. I haven't noticed any trouble with turret operation. I get annoyed when blueberries hit my own ship with its own turrets nudging me a bit, but besides that, I don't think have a forge gun, md, AR firing out of the side would cause any drastic physics issues for my ship. |

It's just allowing infantry to shoot their little hand held guns fom my ship, so what's the problem?
It's not like we are asking for more of the much more powerful vehicle mounted weapons that let you shoot from behind the protection of the ships defenses.
Oh, wait.
The turrets are wimpy compared to what even a scout suit can carry and the gunner positions are inexplicitly exposed to outside small arms fire even when the doors are closed.
It really shows the urgent bias against dropships when changing either one of those things is considered OP. Meanwhile my ship is sniped for 4k HP in a single shot last night, not once, but four times so it wasn't any simultaneous hit fluke. |

What you need is a good pilot to handle all the maneuvers of the ship. As of pilot depends what to strike and where, who and why. |

My DS kills tanks even with blasters, pro driven, sageris, doesn`t matter I counted tem to my DS kills a few days ago. The DS needs more SP capibilitys exclusive to the pilot for spawning in, deployment (deployment with a cap) and for triaging vehicles and instalations. |

I'd rather see a Buff to PG/CPU and the ability to remove Turrets so I can fit stronger modules.
Problem with shooting out of the Dropship means it becomes a crazily OP weapons platform which would need restrictions in place. To make it even slightly balanced we'd probably have to remove the use of Light and Heavy weapons, sidearms only, I'd agree to grenades though (Even as a Tanker) as I could see them being a legit way to bomb out an area.
Sidearms would be okay as you could clear just next to the Dropship before getting out. |
