missiles totally different matter, they need a speed buff.
LOL. We can only shoot 4 times in rapid succession before overheating. If you manage heating like us railgunners do, you'll notice that our shooting interval suddenly goes up to 3.5s, plus you're forgetting it already has a 2.2s or 1.8s interval before your next charge, so don't cry that we have 10X more speed or 7X more damage. Plus you can hide while charging but we can't hide our huge HAVs when firing.
But I agree missiles need a big buff. |

CPL Bloodstone wrote:So i had a little extra cash and bought some of those fancy tanks (80 of them lol) so that i can see what the fuss is all about with tanking. Normally i am one that truly truly loves blowing tanks up with my forge gun. I mean the hate mail is like prime rib to me. However, after sacrificing some of the tanks i bought on some ambush's and skirmishs i started noticing a trend......
My primary Rail gun hits no where near as hard as my forge gun. I can 2 shot any turret and 1-4 shot most tanks. Lav are lol most of the time but once in a while you come across one that takes 2 shots. When i shot the installation turrets i notice it took quite a few shots to kill it compared to my forge gun.....interesting....
So i then beefed up one of the tanks and put on some damage mods and tried it out some more. Same thing, a little better with damage mods but still not as good as my forge gun. I do have large hybrid turret skill to 3 and turrets to 4 i believe so it wasn't a new b level.... The difference was amazing with the rail gun vs forge gun.
Since testing i truly believe the railguns are very underpowered compared to personal AV weapons and need a buff to at least compare to infantry av. I mean the 80 J rail gun should smoke any forge gun on the feild. Any reasonable person would conclude that a tanks MAIN weapon should outdamage a personal infantry weapon at the very least 10-1 not like it seems 3-10.
Just my 2 cents from a Forge Gunner. I believe in all fairness tanks rail guns and Missile turrets (those are just sad atm) need quite a buff. yes there are those that excell at tank shooting but you will always have your Michael Jordans in anything that is human. Anyone can play basketball but few are like him...

P.S. Sorry for the grammer i think my brain is bugged.
+1 I'm glad that a compitent forge gunner decides to see our point of view on railguns vs forge guns.

But I agree missiles need a big buff. im actually not crying about it but making a statement saying the balance in damage is made up by dps which rail rail tanks wins(pro) like it should as hiding a HAV isn't easy(con). it was comparing STD forge vs STD rail. btw add a heat sink and you can fire more rounds before overheating. rail vs forge i believe is balanced mostly with pros and cons. i have actually done both and see the diffence as correctly where they should be at. the only buff i can see working is faster missiles for vehicle mounted turrets and more splash for installation base turrets.
I was using standard count of 4 shots before overheat, comparing standard to standard. Of course you can add a heat sink. But you can also add damage mods for forge guns which are clearly broken right now and need to be fixed ASAP.
And no rail tanks don't have more DPS, considering an actual wait time of around 3s between each shot is made.
