Hello all, I've been thinking a lot about the Pilot-geared elements of the game and thought we should at least attempt to get some consensus from the community regarding what we would like to see in the Pilot suit.
So far I've seen a few people talking about Pilot suits and here are some of the general assumptions:
-No primary weapon, only sidearm (Pistol or SMG) -Small to Medium frame suit (Personally I think it should be a small frame suit as pilots don't generally bother with body armour) -Vehicle interface modules of some kind (Not sure how these would work, feel free to toss out ideas on this aspect) -Possible ability to spawn directly into the aircraft and not wait for RDV delivery on the field
Personally I think the vehicle interface modules should increase stats such as maneuverability. Think of what a pilot in a G-suit can pull off vs just some bloke strapped in wearing jeans and a T-shirt, or in this case a militia assault suit. Also perhaps some benefit to weapon systems/tacnet sensors would be in order, thinking of the helmet integrated HUDs on modern fighters such as the F-35.
Please comment and give your ideas as to what you would like to see as future DUST aviators.

Also if any it should give a bonus viable for every vehicle, including the slow movers such as a durability bonus (resists) or velocity (top speed)
Where have we seen the Pilot suit?
I agree with you regarding the bonuses, I assume that these will be module based and so we would be able to tailor our suit fitting to dropships, gunships, fighters, etc. I was just throwing the other two out there as "outside the box" ideas away from shield buffs or speed bonuses but I see what you're saying. |

Basically the use of the suit is to get in your aircraft without having to call an RDV. Upgrading the suit would be to survive better if the aircraft is destroyed. It sounds a bit lame though.
Not to open a can of worms but perhaps there should be a Tanker suit? Or the Pilot suit would more accurately be a Vehicle Operator suit?
Good idea regarding the speed and sensor profile changes, I think that would be suitable. |

I really do think that is a Gallente Assault suit but regardless we're getting sidetracked. |

I'd like to think that it would be left to pilot discretion as to what mods they would choose. Perhaps I may want to go against prevailing wisdom and try some weird fits and buff the tank of a light vehicle, or make a faster heavy. |

I hear you but CCP has already tossed out the idea of a Pilot suit, and seeing as how come launch we are going to see a plethora of new suits available. If you aren't already familiar with the system of ship classes in EVE I would take a look at it. Eventually we're going to have very specific suits for a multitude of niche roles. Covert Ops would be a good example of a specialist variant that one would unlock down the line. Pilot is just another one of these battlefield specializations. |
