Hi Is there some way to help out people that can not hear. Like closed capture. So when some one is talking, we can see or read what they say or saying? thanks Tamara |

No, it's difficult for the system to account for every accent, every dialect, and every language used to capture the voices of hundreds of thousands of players at once and then transcribe them on the screen without making some serious errors. |

Great idea, would also allow people recording video to transcribe a director's meeting or corp battle commands so when some one screws up there's a clear record of who said what when and what happened.
If this could be done client side it would make more sense as there is still audio transmission just no need to be sending text to everyone's screen. PS3 receives audio transmission, PS3 interprets the audio based on localized language settings.
English to Japanese or Dutch or German translations might be possible as well. The language packs would be able to translate across language barriers that exist with the layering on of something like Google Translate on top of the closed captions. This would remove language barriers for corporations that say speak only french and allow them to communicate in real time with an ally that only speaks russian or english, rather than needing to learn a language.
CCP has already spent considerable time translating Eve, this would be a logical next step. |

Simpler idea, that benefits anyone who does not have/can not use a mic.
How about generic squad commands that can be used by pressing and holding the melee button and then using the plus pad. Each direction expresses a different command. Commands like "Move out!", "Take cover!", "Hold Position", "On me!"... ECT. It would display the message on the squads screen.
Four more commands could be given by holding the L1 button, while holding the melee button down and before pressing a button on the directional pad.
Sorry if the idea is bad. Just came up with it on the fly , after remembering some older FPS shooters |
