Going through my assets the other day and I see that I have looted around 15 high-end LAVs. I can't drive them, and before I put skill points into driving, what do you guys think about the high-end LAV's useability, survivability, and cost effectiveness?
Are they useful as an area effect healer, as they claim? Is it worth having a 2 person CRU? Can they survive a hit from a potato gun? Can the turret do any more damage than the front bumper? |

1) Don't know 2) Yes, unfortunately, blueberries will fill it up fast 3) Yes, with a strong EHP, but most likely avoiding them with speed is the best bet 4) Yes, just like the turrets on the tank can become super effective, only down side is LAVs move around a lot and its a bit harder to get a clear shot on something. |

if done right you can get the EHP of a Menthana to have the same armor as a Millitia tank, it's alot faster and costs about the same though with less total firepower. As far as I have seen the shield transport and remote repair are not complete yet, they are lock on only and in order to use them you have to give up the speed factor to stay with your infantry/tank |

What I hate is the fact you need to stay inside if you want it to last. Same as dropship,..
You drive and then you loose your cash when you decide you prefer shooting people.
The only time I thought to LAV was nice was when I fitted the Methana with speed module all around and some good shield. I achieved to ran away from a tank shooting me. Used it only once though, since even though I had fun, I finally end up hacking an objective to get my jeep taken and blown up by a blueberry who probably didn't even know he could use the speed booster.
I call free ones now. |

No, I meant potato, as in "Militia LAVs blow up if hit with a potato gun, let alone a swarm launcher".
So, they can be a speedy under-armed militia tank or a slow heavily armed (relatively) huge target logi suit.
Might be worth following an HAV and healing it, but that would require teamwork, which means giving up this life as a one-man merc corp and joining a team. (actually planning to do that in April sometime)
Either way, doesn't sound like a worthwhile repository of my hard-earned skillpoints. |

Also, right now, I don't think you get any points for spawns or healing in a LAV, so you are pretty much left up to killing stuff, which the logistics LAVs actually get a penalty to their turret damage. |

they have been working on ninja av buffs so LAV have been suffering much more from then tanks. the damage mod on the turret was removed with its built in repp tool. but right now its just a money and sp pit, you get nothing out of it but whatever fun you can make out of it which isn't alot. |

I can testify that the difference in in surviveability between Standard and Advanced LAVs is night and and day. A well fit Limbus is a militia armor tank that can move 40m/s.
That said, the stronger your LAV is the more likely it is that it will outlast the dropsuit your driving it with. |
