Correct me if I'm wrong, but as of right now don't all the ARs look the same? I know the tactical one has a scope on it, but the rest look identical to each other. I'm wondering if at some point all weapons will look different. Does anybody know anything about this? |

Its always the AR users complaining about this, I never see anyone complaining about all HMGs or mass drivers looking the same. Its interesting. |

Atleast the AR's are different colors. But no, they are all the same type of weapon, just different variations of it. CCP has stated before that they are working on a weapon mode system.
Think of it this way: Its the same gun, liscensed to different manufacturers in the eve universe, muhc like how AR15's are in the US. |

I'm pretty sure the tactical will be come the caldari AR and the burst will be the minmatar AR
They are clumped them all into one gun since we have such a limited amount of weapons at the moment compared to commercial release. |

The Gallente (GO Gallente!) use plasma based weaponry.
The Caldari use rail gun technology.
The Amarr use direct energy weapons (I.E lasers and scrambler weaponry)
Last but not least (Amarrens may disagree), use gun powder weaponry. This includes the HMG, MD and SMG. Personally, I like these the best, though my Gallente pride will digress ;) |

I think a plasma heavy weapon would be an oversized plasma shotgun. By oversized I mean anti LAV shotgun. |

I just want the ability to put a simple red dot sight on the assault rifles (And other some other guns). Not an invasive sight like the burst or tactical. That would be sweet. |

I'm going to go out on a limb and say its because all the CoD kids use ARs and need them to look different because that's what they are used to in their boring modern FPS games
