The Kaalakiota-developed Gauss Pistol is a handheld coilgun capable of firing near silent tungsten flechettes. These flechettes are moving at subsonic speed, but possess enough inertia and are able to project kinetic energy onto such a small area that they can effectively puncture even advanced dropsuit armor. Unlike the Scrambler Pistol, it lacks the ability to scramble your brainwaves, but it has a larger clip size allowing you to use it for longer without reloading. It deals 200% damage on headshot, which is less than half of the 450% damage on headshot dealt by the Scrambler Pistol.
If the use of weapons ever increases your scan profile (which I think it should), Gauss Pistols would probably be a total exception to that rule.
Advantages over the Scrambler Pistol
- The Gauss Pistol produces much less noise and much, much less flash (obviously). Stealthy!
- The Gauss Pistol has a larger clip size.
Disadvantages over the Scrambler Pistol
- The Scrambler Pistol deals much more damage on a headshot.
Roles of the Gauss Pistol
- The Gauss Pistol acts as a short to medium range stealth weapon.
- The Gauss Pistol makes for a reliable sidearm that won't go empty on you when you really need it.
Variants
- Breach - Deals increased damage, but has a lower rate of fire and clip size.
- Assault - Increased rate of fire, but decreased accuracy and it produces more noise.
- Tactical - Fitted with a small scope and longer range for enhanced mid-range stealth combat. Smaller clip size.

"Blind your foes today, buy a Gauss Pistol"- Caldari Sales Rep Gauss guns (also known as coilguns) produce absolutely no flash realistically, even without flash suppressing components. They do make some sound, however. Much less than traditional guns, and it is relatively simple to mask. Railguns on the other hand, a weapon using very similar technology, make a massive amount of flash and noise as well as recoil. |

"Blind your foes today, buy a Gauss Pistol"- Caldari Sales Rep Caldari don't buy because of advertisements, they buy for the glory of the State! I hate Tibus Heth, but I like Caldari technology. I'm conflicted right now. |

Caldari Sales Reps aren't targeting their fellow Caldari though. Actually, they are. All the time. Caldari sell to everyone, anywhere. Everything is on sale... for a price. |

"Blind your foes today, buy a Gauss Pistol"- Caldari Sales Rep That seems more like something the Amarr would make, something about them blinding their enemies with holy Catholic light. Space Catholics are always doing ridiculous stuff, you know? |
