There should be some type of weapon and/or equipment to impair and hinder enemy movement. A while back, I heard about some sort of possible glue bomb or proximity explosive for stopping enemy vehicles in their tracks but there should be something for enemy infantry as well. Doesn't matter if it's a tar gun, some sort of destructive EMP, or whatever but I think it would be very effective on the battlefield, especially as infantry and vehicles are reaching incredible speeds after constant levelling. |

electrical mine: a standard mine 3 seconds shock 35HP per second max carried 2, max deployed 3, HP 160HP, Range 3M 8,000 ISK
pulse electrical mine: pulsed variant mine 4 Pulses, instant pulse damage 50HP a pulse, 2 second cool down max carried 2 max deployed 3, 160HP range 2.5M 10,000 ISK
raised electrical mine: 4 seconds shock 30HP per sec max carried 2, max deployed 2, HP 180 range 5M 10,000 ISK
adhesive electrical mine: 3 seconds shock 35HP per second max carried 2 max deployed 2 100HP range 3M sticks to what its thrown onto 11,000 ISK
charge electrical mine: 2 seconds charge 60HP per second max carried 1 max deployed 2 250HP range 3m 11,000 ISK
those are the basic ideas for the mines with advanced and prototype obviously better with longer charges more damage and further range and the AUR versions notice i didn't add PG and CPU usage because i am not sure what would be fair for these but this is just a general suggestion on what would be something a little less user oriented and more proximity and less lethality than some generic claymore style mine :) these mines basically screw with your vision making your HUD pixelized and you movement making random movements controller button presses and you can't sprint for a while afterwards plus the bright flash and noise alerts enemies around you it also screws with electrical related weapons like the laser rifle and nanohives taking away durability usage and ammo this is sort of along your lines :)
i also think a ranged tazer would be fun that shoots a ball of electricity XD |

I played a Star Wars game awhile back, Star wars Battle Front: Rogue Squadron.
There was a gun in there; I think it was the carbon freeze gun, but I'm not sure. It literally froze people in place for a couple seconds, depending on how long you charged the shot prior to firing. Trade off was that it barely did damage to people's HP.
Could help keep those Scouts in place long enough to lob a locus at them ;) |

Future of DUST includes some form of Stasis Webifier that will slow targets down. |

One of my corp mates mentioned the webifier as well but from the sounds of it, it keeps being pushed back for other things that take higher priority like constantly tweaking the sound effects. |

As much as i want stasis webifiers to be added to dust it is a weapon that will be a absolute nightmare to balance, currently in dust movement is your main defense from gun fire while not in cover of course webbers will be a counter to movement which will make it very powerful but the last thing we need is a module that is required to be competitive, right now damage mods are said module but if webbers are added all of a sudden there is something better to use which shuts down the enemy so you can put damn near 100% damage on someone at close range no matter how good they dance,

Quote:webbers will be a counter to movement which will make it very powerful That's why I said impair or hinder movement like cause 50% speed decrease for a few seconds; not stop. Furthermore, I think the webber should have a slight charge factor to it (like forge gun or railgun) where you can't simply immobilize an entire squad with a few quick shots. I would like webbers to be made where they are only useful in squad situations where one person (maybe two) is running a webber while the rest of the squad clears out webified enemies. |

Simple then, make Webifier like a Repair Tool... where you have to hold it, aim it, and hold the button down to make the enemy slow down.. so even if you can put 100% of damage on them.. you're putting out 0 damage solo... thus 100% of 0 = 0.
