In the short few days I played the defiance beta (more like demo, considering it lasted less than a week) i can confidently say that defiance is definitely not a threat.
It's DCUO with guns, and DCUO is nothing special. Defiance has a LONG way to go to be HALF as addictive as dust is even in its Current build. |

The gameplay is the same as DCUO, the way people can join together to fight enemies is like DCUO, the way enemies pop up is just like DCUO and the way they infinitely respawn is like DCU, the way other players animation 'skips' at a certain distance a like DCUO.
yes i said its like DCUO with guns, because it is. I'm aware that DCUO HAS guns but guns are not the only form of combat in DCUO.
If I want to play a game like DCUO then I will play DCUO. Defiance offers nothing new to the table and its not ground breaking at all.
Dust is ground breaking being that its the first game of its kind and its linked with a game thats been going 10 years. However, defiance has been done before, and I don't fall for the 'but it's linked to a tv show' crap. When the tv show gets canned then the game will fail as it won't have that fancy 'tv show link' line to fall back on. |
